Neste estudo, verificou-se a Cartografia Social como uma ferramenta potencializadora ao articular o contexto vivido dos alunos com o ensino da Cartografia e os conceitos geográficos e, além disso, de sólida contribuição para a superação do distanciamento da Cartografia do restante dos conteúdos da disciplina escolar de Geografia.ABSTRACTThe present article aims to highlight some reflections about the teaching and learning process of Cartography through a pedagogical intervention using Social Cartography as a methodological tool with the students of a high school class of the State Technical School Profª. Sylvia Mello, located in the city of Pelotas-RS. In order to do so, the students carried out mapemetry within the school and the making of maps, considering some peculiarities and characteristics of this school context, among them: the division of spaces in the school and its various forms of appropriations by students. Thus, the methodological practice is divided into three stages of realization, which had as its core the protagonism of the students through the construction of maps. In this study, Social Cartography was verified as a potential tool in articulating the lived context of the students with the teaching of Cartography and the geographic concepts and, in addition, a solid contribution to overcome the Cartography distancing from the rest of the contents of the discipline school of Geography. Keywords: Maps; Geography; School
Pela atualidade da sua pesquisa de doutoramento, o ineditismo da tese de Livre-Docência e, não menos importante, pelas inestimáveis contribuições ao desenvolvimento da Geografia Humanística Cultural, Lívia permanece como leitura obrigatória no ensino e na epistemologia da Geografia.ABSTRACTIn celebration of the six decades dedicated to Geography by Lívia de Oliveira (1927-2020), this article defends the thesis that, under the terms of Italo Calvino, the Emeritus Professor of UNESP at Rio Claro should be considered a classic of Brazilian geographic thought. Para promover a aquisição do pensamento espacial, propõem-se o desenvolvimento de oficinas de intervenção com o intuito de contribuir para a formação docente.ABSTRACTThe presented research cutout inserts in a broader project wich aims to contribute for the use of self-regulated learning startegies by students from the Degree in Geography at the Federal University of Pelotas – UFPel. The cutout, it concerns the discussion of the results of a survey made with students from the Institutional Scholarship Program for Initiation to Teaching/PIBID of the Geography course, that aimed to evaluate the spatial thinking of the pibidians and prove the investment necessity on learning strategies, promoted by interventions that potentiate the acquisition of this kind of thinking, as the geography reasoning. Its about a quantitative study on realization phase, as a data gathering instrument for this cutout, STAT (Spatial Thinking Ability Test) was used wich was applied in the second semester of 2019. Based on results, it was noticed that students have difficulties in the elaboration of spatial thinking, a situation that can sometimes make geographical interpretation difficult. To promote the acquisition of spatial thinking, it is proposed the development of intervation workshops in order to contribute for the teacher training.Key words: Spatial Thinking; School Cartography; Teaching and Learning Strategies; Self-regulation
