Neste trabalho de pesquisa técnicas sustentáveis e de baixo custo foram aplicadas como sucesso na reciclagem dos resíduos de tintas utilizadas em uma indústria de calçados localizada no estado do Ceará. O desenvolvimento da pesquisa foi realizado em várias etapas: (i) coleta dos dados, desde a preparação da tinta até a reutilização dos resíduos da tinta no processo industrial; (ii) manuseio da tinta, obtenção dos resíduos, análises laboratoriais dos resíduos, realização de testes de qualidade do material reciclado. Os testes de qualidade da tinta reciclada foram realizados com base em padrões previamente especificados pela indústria de calçados. Os testes de viscosidade, aderência e coloração aplicados nos resíduos após a reciclagem, mostraram resultados semelhantes aos produzidos a partir da tinta antes do processo de flexografia. Com base nos resultados alcançados, os autores mostraram uma aplicação de processos ecologicamente sustentáveis que podem serem usados no reaproveitamento de resíduos industriais e, consequentemente reduzir os custos operacionais com a compra de material usado na produção.
