Air distributions in commercial airliner cabins are crucial for creating a thermally comfortable and healthy cabin environment. This paper reviewed the methods used in predicting, designing, and analyzing air distributions in the cabins. Two popular methods are experimental measurements and numerical simulations. The experimental measurements have usually been seen as more reliable although they are more expensive and time consuming. Most of the numerical simulations use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) that can provide effectively detailed information. Numerous applications using the two methods can be found in the literature for studying air distributions in aircraft cabin, including investigations on more reliable and accurate models. Our review shows that studies using both experimental measurements and computer simulations are becoming popular. Our review also found that it is necessary to use a full-scale test rig to obtain reliable and high quality experimental data, and that the hybrid CFD models are rather promising for simulating air distributions in airliner cabins.
We determined whether compensating ceramides in the stratum corneum (SC) may ameliorate the impaired barrier function and subsequently attenuate the enhanced skin sensitivity. Treatment for 4 weeks with the ceramide complex cream or the placebo cream significantly ameliorated the intensity of lactic acid sensations in 39 female subjects with sensitive skin, the degree of which was attenuated to a greater extent at 1 week by the ceramide complex cream compared with the placebo cream. The amelioration of skin sensations was accompanied by a significant increase in total ceramide content in the SC elicited by the ceramide complex cream that was significantly more effective than the placebo cream at 4 weeks. Consistently, TEWL and conductance values were significantly decreased or increased at 1 and 4 weeks, respectively, to a greater extent by the ceramide complex cream than by the placebo cream. TEWL levels were significantly correlated with the increased levels of SC total ceramide in the ceramide complex cream-treated skin but not in the placebo cream-treated skin. Thus, the amelioration of lactic acid sensations by topical application of a ceramide complex cream, provides a deep insight into the pathophysiology of sensitive skin as a reduced barrier function-dependent sub-clinical sensory response.
In this paper, the issue of malicious URL detection is investigated. Firstly a P system is proposed. Then the new P system is introduced to design the optimization algorithm of BP neural network to achieve the malicious URL detection with better performance. In the end some examples are included and corresponding experimental results display the advantage and effectiveness of the optimization algorithm proposed.
In clinical practice, we found that microRNA (miR)-146a-5p is significantly up-regulated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of primary sjögren's syndrome (pSS) patients. In vitro experiments confirmed that miR-146a-5p promotes T helper 17 (Th17) cell differentiation, but the specific mechanism is still unknown. To solve this problem, 20 pSS patients and 20 healthy subjects were enrolled in this study and PBMCs were isolated from their blood. The expression of the membrane IL-23 R (mIL-23 R) in PBMCs was determined. CD3 + T cells were also isolated and used to further analyze the relationship between the ectodomain shedding of mIL-23 R and a disintegrin and metalloprotease 17 (ADAM17). Finally, miR-146a-5p inhibitor and mimics were transfected into PBMCs to evaluate the relationship between ADAM17 and mIL-23 R, and explore the role of mIL-23 R and ADAM17 in Th17 cell differentiation. Our results revealed a significantly increased expression of miR-146a-5p in PBMCs from pSS patients and significantly increased percentage of Th17 cells compared to PBMCs from healthy controls. Under polarization culture conditions, pSS patient-derived PBMCs can more easily differentiate into Th17 cells, which was, to a great extent, attributable to the increased expression of mIL-23 R. Moreover, ADAM17, an ectodomain sheddase of mIL-23 R, was targeted and negatively regulated by miR-146a-5p, which reduced the ectodomain shedding of mIL-23 R. Overall, our results suggested that miR-146a-5p could promote Th17 cell differentiation through targeting and negatively regulating ADAM17. Thus, these results might offer a new approach in the treatment of pSS.
