La ciudad de Ambato, capital de la provincia de Tungurahua, ha sufrido un incremento poblacional importante, debido a varios factores que han incidido en este fenómeno demográfico, como: procesos migratorios, la ubicación estratégica en el centro del país, la gran actividad comercial, la presencia de instituciones de educación superior, entre otras. Esta carga poblacional acarrea la generación de problemáticas y necesidades de vivienda, equipamiento público de recreación, salud, educación, seguridad, vialidad, transporte, otros, que de acuerdo a las competencias de las instituciones públicas y privadas se deben cubrir. En este sentido, el espacio público recreativo en el centro de la ciudad es limitado, razón por la cual, la municipalidad está tomando áreas verdes de quebradas, y riberas del río Ambato para implantar proyectos que promuevan la protección y cuidado de estas cuencas hídricas, en donde se va a intervenir mediante el convenio de vinculación entre el GAD Municipal y la Universidad Tecnológica Indoamerica, el objetivo es proponer un proyecto paisajístico mediante la Aplicación de la metodología de Tratamiento del Paisaje en las quebradas del área urbana de la ciudad de Ambato,específicamente en la Quebrada Jalupana, adyacente a la calle Los Cocos, ubicada en el sector El Sueño. Dentro de este marco, la propuesta está direccionada a aprovechar la cuenca visual de la acequia paralela a la calle Los Cocos, a optimizar la vía mediante el mejoramiento integral de camineras, al mejoramiento de las condiciones de las escalinatas, espacios y mobiliario urbano y la adecuada selección de la vegetación aplicada en este Paisaje del sector. En relación con las implicaciones, el alto nivel de impacto del proyecto se debe a que esta vía es una es una arteria que comunica dos avenidas principales, la Circunvalación y la Rodrigo Pachano, sin duda es un aporte con el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de la población residente y de los transeúntes.
Se analizó la importancia de la arquitectura vernácula, como expresión de la identidad del hábitat rural; entendiéndose la relación existente entre el contexto y las prácticas culturales. La investigación se desarrolló en la parroquia San José de Poaló, del cantón Píllaro con el objetivo de analizar la influencia de la fiesta popular en la arquitectura vernácula. A partir de la definición de la arquitectura tradicional como parte del patrimonio tangible, el estudio se abordó con un enfoque cualitativo, mediante fichas de observación, que describieron la configuración formal, funcional, y las concepciones espaciales expresadas en su fiesta popular: “La Trajería.” Finalmente se planteó una propuesta de lineamientos, para la conservación de las costumbres y su incidencia en las construcciones vernáculas.
El Ecuador, país latinoamericano privilegiado y reconocido por sus abundantes recursos naturales y su rico patrimonio cultural, ubicados en las cuatro regiones naturales: Costa, Sierra, Oriente y la Región Insular. En este sentido, de acuerdo al Ministerio de Ambiente, once territorios cumplieron con los requisitos para alcanzar la denominación de Parques Nacionales; Llanganates fue incorporado en 1996. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue el análisis paisajístico mediante el levantamiento de los elementos naturales, antrópicos y culturales del Parque Nacional Llanganates; la metodología aplicada se basó en un modelo multidisciplinar, a través de la investigación de tipo exploratorio, descriptivo y explicativo, el enfoque cualitativo vinculado con la valoración de componentes paisajísticos. Además, los recursos intangibles constituidas por ricas leyendas surgidas con la conquista española, como la captura y asesinato en Cajamarca del Inca Atahualpa, trasladado a Quito, y posteriormente enterrado de acuerdo con expertos historiadores y antropólogos, en la Hacienda Malqui Machay, Sigchos, provincia de Cotopaxi, un lugar rico en ruinas y múltiples vestigios incas. Así también se relata que Rumiñahui medio hermano y general del Inca, trasladó los tesoros y los ocultó en Llanganates, lo que despertó curiosidad y expectativa. Finalmente, los resultados obtenidos en el levantamiento de los componentes Biofísicos, visuales y antrópicos a más del legado cultural son importantes para exponer los grandes valores paisajísticos del sitio de estudio. Concluyendo, el conocimiento y puesta en valor de lugares icónicos abrieron una percepción más amplia sobre el mítico Parque Nacional de los Llanganates.
Los paisajes rurales en la serranía ecuatoriana guardan rasgos diversos, comunes, singulares. Sin embargo, cada sector tiene su propia identidad y características que los hacen únicos e irrepetibles; en el caso de Cotaló, parroquia del cantón Pelileo se encuentran paisajes de extraordinaria belleza y de alto valor escénico, como las cuencas visuales que permiten admirar el volcán Tungurahua. La problemática detectada es el desaprovechamiento de estos recursos en actividades turísticas, recreativas o contemplativas, que permitan un desarrollo social sostenible. De hecho, el objetivo es evidenciar el potencial de las áreas naturales. Cabe destacar que, el levantamiento de información del contexto se elaboró con la Metodología de Análisis y tratamiento de paisaje; uso de matrices de caracterización y valoración del territorio, a más de encuestas a la población y entrevistas a autoridades y expertos, En lo esencial, el resultado de la investigación es el reconocimiento e identificación de los diferentes componentes de paisaje: visuales, los biofísicos y los antrópicos. Así mismo, hay que destacar los recursos identitarios tangibles e intangibles. Finalmente, promover el cuidado ambiental, la protección, gestión y ordenamiento del Paisaje rural natural.
