Este artículo busca describir las bacterias oportunistas que causan infecciones oculares para ello, se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica en bases de datos (PubMed, SciELO, EBSCO Medline, ProQuest, ScienceDirect y Scopus) y libros. Se encontró que las bacterias oportunistas causantes de infecciones oculares son habitantes residentes o transitorios de la microbiota ocular: Staphylococcus epidermidis, Corynebacterium sp., Propionibacterium sp., y Micrococcus del ambiente: Enterobacter erogenes, Citrobacter, Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Sphingomonas, Bradyrhizobium, Aquabacterium, Brevundimonas y Bacillus y de los animales: Francisella tularensis, Chlamydia psittacii y Leptospira. Estas bacterias ocasionan conjuntivitis, blefaritis, dacriocistitis, endoftalmitis, celulitis, queratitis y uveítis, en pacientes inmunocomprometidos, con una frecuencia mayor al 37 %. Además, la mayoría de especies son multirresistentes a los antimicrobianos, por lo cual representan un problema de salud pública que requiere el estudio de su hábitat y sus formas de transmisión, así como el diagnóstico y el control por parte del personal de la salud visual y ocular.
En este artículo se presentan resultados de investigación como producto de un proceso de formación desarrollado en un curso dirigido a estudiantes de últimos semestres de la Licenciatura en Educación con énfasis en Ciencias Naturales y Educación Ambiental, de la Universidad del Valle. El propósito es determinar cómo los fundamentos de la mediación didáctica contribuyen a la implementación de las actividades experimentales para la enseñanza de las ciencias naturales en docentes en formación. Para lograrlo se realizó la observación y análisis de clases de docentes en formación en el contexto del curso y en ambientes escolares. Para lo anterior, se tiene como enfoque metodológico el estudio de caso mediante el seguimiento a dos docentes en formación, matriculados en el curso de Mediación Didáctica de las Ciencias Naturales, ofrecido durante un semestre, con una intensidad horaria de 3 horas semanales en 16 sesiones. Lo anterior implica, la consideración y desarrollo de cuatro momentos: 1) caracterización académica de los docentes en formación; 2) cualificación de los docentes en formación, 3) análisis de los registros fílmicos de las clases realizadas por los docentes en formación; 4) registro de la información, el análisis y las conclusiones. Podemos destacar que uno de los principales aspectos observados está relacionado con las concepciones disciplinares, pedagógicas y didácticas que poseen los docentes, evidenciables en la planificación y desarrollo de las actividades experimentales desarrolladas en las clases. Vimos una importante oportunidad para que los docentes en formación reflexionaran y cuestionaran las estrategias utilizadas abriendo paso al diseño de procesos de enseñanza auténticos y significativos.
Este artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación que consistió en determinar la incidencia de las actividades experimentales en la promoción del desarrollo de la habilidad de la observación científica en 5 estudiantes (11-13 años). El tema sobre el que se proponen las actividades es diversidad de los protozoos. La investigación fue de corte cualitativa, con un diseño de caso único A-B. El procedimiento investigativo constó de tres fases: exploración; planeación e implementación de las actividades experimentales; y valoración de los aprendizajes. Los resultados en la etapa exploratoria evidencian que los estudiantes presentan desempeños bajos en la observación científica, consecuente con la enseñanza del docente cuyas ideas simplistas sobre la observación están ligadas solo al acto de ver; además, tampoco reconoce que debe ser enseñada a través de actividades concretas. Se concluye que, las actividades experimentales influyen positivamente en el desarrollo de la observación y el aprendizaje conceptual de la diversidad de los protozoos, así mismo, que se debe dirigir la enseñanza al afianzamiento de la atención, la sensación, la percepción, la descripción, el registro de datos y la reflexión, factores que condicionan el aprendizaje de la observación científica y que tienen progresos lentos, independientes y diferenciados en los estudiantes.
Presentamos el análisis de las producciones escritas de estudiantes de secundaria al interactuar con un contexto argumentativo sobre la contaminación de los ríos. Se analizó la información en un sistema de categorías compuesto por 8 dimensiones. Los resultados indican que las dimensiones fuentes de datos y relación de variables presentan barreras que se deben a la lectura e interpretación de tablas y gráficos. Respecto a la dimensión Incorporación de datos al elaborar un argumento, los estudiantes apelan a los relatos de los habitantes aledaños como evidencia en comparación del uso de datos asociados a valores numéricos. Es necesario trabajar previamente otras habilidades como la interpretación y uso de datos para lograr la construcción de argumentos más robustos.
