Pongok Island has the potential of coastal ecosystems, namely mangrove, seagrass, and coral reef. Recently, increasing use of bombs and potassium in fishing can be destructive hence the ecosystems need to be conserved in order to be utilized sustainably. The management in question is the establishment of a conservation area that involves fishing communities so that an assessment of the community’s perception of the determination of conservation areas is needed. This study aims to determine the perception of fishing communities towards the establishment of conservation areas in Pongok Island, South Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Province, Republic of Indonesia. The selection of respondents was done by using purposive sampling. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis to explain the perception of the fishing community towards the determination of conservation areas. The results of the study show that public perception is quite good because the highest percentage of assessment level is found in the assessment criteria of agree and strongly agree. The community perception on establisment of concervation areas is a high with the level of strongly agree criteria of 34.418% and 55.105% agree criteria and low rating on appraisal criteria are sufficient to agree at 8.827% and disagree at 1.650%.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the income of coastal communities that the average low-income to a variety of items of daily necessities at affordable prices; analyzing the welfare of fishermen livelihood as fishermen go out to sea to provide for a relatively cheap price; analyze potential opportunities employment and improve the productive economic activities of coastal communities in general; analyzing the potential of trained professionals as managers of micro-enterprises such as business skills bike shop, tavern coast, solar packed dealer fishermen and marine tourism services business; analyze institutional joint venture group of fishermen (KUB) to productive economic activities are legal entities. The method used was the identification stage approach, approach and strategy construction activities, mentoring and recruitment stage approach HR, training stage approach and the approach stage fund direct delivery. The results showed that the activities of the joint venture fishing (KUB) was the effort Cirebon City bike shop, tavern coast, solar dealers packed fishing marine tourism and business services to help increase the economic income of coastal communities in the city of Cirebon Keywords: business group with fishermen, shop coastal fishermen and dealers packed diesel service business of marine tourism
This research is a case study on the coast of Karawang Regency, West Java Province, which is part of the North Coast of Java. In the coastal area of Karawang, it was previously planned to build a port, but it was canceled and shifted to another regency. How is the condition of the Karawang coast? Has it undergone physical changes and is it risky if a port is built, and do it need some coastal protection strutures to protect it from damage? What kind of coastal structures are suitable to protect the coast of Karawang? These question are at the same time a problem that will be raised in this study. The objectives of this research are: (1) to plan a coastal protection structure for the coast of Karawang; (2) to determine the type and structure of coastal protection structures that are suitable for the Karawang coast. Research data in the form of primary and secondary data, with primary data covering topography, bathymetry, tides, currents, obtained by validation through Ground Check Points (GCP), and secondary data covering wind, and socioeconomic. Analysis of the data through simulation and determination of the selected coastal structures, with the result that the appropriate coastal protection structures are breakwaters and groynes, because they can reduce the overflow of waves that occur, so that the coast is protected from the onslaught of damaging waves.
Kata kunci : abrasi, sedimentasi, arus, gelombang, pasang surut, remote sensing ABSTRACK The existence of the coastline in the northern part of Karawang Regency is very worrying due to abrasion and sedimentation where sea water that was far from the side of the road is now on the edge of the road and several areas along the coast have been damaged affected by the abrasion. The process of abrasion and sedimentation can be monitored by using Remote Sensing technology, which is technology that uses electro magnetic waves to produce images obtained from sensors carried by satellites with the physical properties of objects observed on the surface of the earth. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of abrasion and sedimentation that occurred in the Karawang regency coast by using remote sensing technology. Based on the results of data processing and analysis conducted in 6 subdistricts along the Karawang coast, abrasion and sedimentation have occurred, where 4 villages experienced abrasion while 2 villages experienced sedimentation. The largest area formed due to abrasion occurred in Sedari village covering 166,802 hectares and the largest area formed by sedimentation occurred in Muara Cilamaya village of 276,318 hectares. The fastest speed of abrasion process occurred in Sukajaya village by 10.00 meters / year while the fastest sedimentation process was in Muara Cimalaya village at 4.50 meters / year.
