Sistemas de aproveitamento de águas pluviais (AAP) e de reúso de águas cinzas (RAC) são estratégias de gestão descentralizadas capazes de promover reduções na demanda urbana de água. No entanto, pouco se sabe sobre suaviabilidade para uma implementação estratégicaem edificações. Para avaliar a viabilidadedesses sistemas hidráulicos em edificações residenciais, é fundamental compreender o uso desagregado de água para estimar o potencial de redução no consumo de água e verificar a aplicabilidade, os custos e os benefícios de adaptação predial. O presente artigo foca na caracterização dos usos-finais de água do estoque de edificações residenciais de Brasília, e na identificação do potencial de redução do consumode água promovido por diferentes sistemasAAP e RAC. Em geral, resultados demonstramum alto índice de consumo de água em chuveiros (23,0%), máquinas de lavar roupa (21,4%) e descargas sanitárias (15,3%). Já os usos externos de água representam uma pequena fração do consumo predial total (3,5%). Em média, resultados indicam que as áreas de cobertura são capazes de fornecer águas pluviais para suprir 48% da demanda em lavagem de roupas, 60%em descargas sanitárias e 100% em lavagem depisos e irrigação. Sistemas de reúso de águas cinzas apresentaram maiores valores de economia de água em lavagem de roupas (2.541m³/ano) e descarga sanitárias (1.815 m³/ano). Ambos sistemas AAP e RAC são capazes de promover reduções equivalente a 811 m³/ano.
ResumoA viabilidade da implementação de sistemas de aproveitamento águas pluviais (AAP) e de reúso de águas cinzas (RAC) em edifícios residenciais é analisada e os resultados são apresentados em dois artigos. A primeira parte caracteriza os usos-finais do consumo doméstico de água de edificações residenciais de Brasília e identifica o potencial de redução no consumo de água promovido por diferentes sistemas AAP e RAC. A segunda parte aponta possíveis soluções para adaptação predial das tipologias residenciais de Brasília e faz uma avaliação financeira dos custos-benefícios para diferentes tipos de sistemas AAP e RAC. Em geral, resultados indicam que a adaptação predial voltada ao aproveitamento de águas pluviais em demandas externas é uma solução simples e rentável. Em alguns casos, reservatórios inferiores de água fria podem ser modificados para servir como cisternas de água pluvial, reduzindo custos de capital. Adaptação predial voltada ao aproveitamento de águas pluviais em demandas internas demonstrou ser uma solução inviável devido aos altos custos de reforma. Por outro lado, sistemas de reúso de águas cinzas em demandas internas promovem benefícios financeiros significativos, o que acaba compensando os custos de reforma. O reúso de águas cinzas em demandas externas demonstrou ser uma alternativa inviável devido aos altos custos do sistema e aos baixos benefícios financeiros.
