O presente artigo tem como objetivo refletir sobre o teatro digital e as condições adequadas de acessibilidade para a pessoa surda no contexto da pandemia da COVID-19 na cidade de Ilhéus, litoral sul da Bahia. Como metodologia, trata-se de uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa; é do tipo bibliográfica, ao refletir sobre as discussões de publicações sobre a temática; e do tipo documental em meio digital, ao realizar um levantamento de espetáculos digitais apresentados pelo grupo Teatro Popular de Ilhéus (TPI) durante o período de isolamento social resultante da pandemia. Como resultado, verificou-se a necessidade de espetáculos digitais acessíveis para a comunidade surda. Por fim, o artigo ressalta a importância do compromisso de gestores(as) culturais na efetivação e fiscalização das políticas públicas de acessibilidade, na compreensão da profissão de Tradutor e Intérprete de Libras (TILSP) em espetáculos teatrais e na conscientização dos(as) artistas locais para garantia dos direitos previstos na legislação.
