The pseudometric based on the Kantorovich lifting is one of the most popular notion of distance between probabilistic processes proposed in the literature. However, its application in verification is limited to linear properties. We propose a generalization which allows to deal with a wider class of properties, such as those used in security and privacy. More precisely, we propose a family of pseudometrics, parametrized on a notion of distance which depends on the property we want to verify. Furthermore, we show that the members of this family still characterize bisimilarity in terms of their kernel, and provide a bound on the corresponding distance between trace distributions. Finally, we study the instance corresponding to differential privacy, and we show that it has a dual form, easier to compute. We also prove that the typical processalgebra constructs are non-expansive, thus paving the way to a modular approach to verification.
• Acid phosphatase activity was negatively correlated with soil pH and P content.• βG, NAG, and LAP activities were positively correlated with SOC and Total N contents.• The four enzyme activities were significantly higher under manure than NPK fertilizer.• Enzyme activities were positively correlated with actinomycete and G + bacterium.• We recommend reducing P fertilizer application rates to subtropical paddy soils.

A long-term field fertilizer application trial was established on reddish paddy soils in the subtropical region of southern China in 1998. We assessed the effects of swine manure and seven different rates or ratios of NPK fertilizer treatments on (1) the absolute and specific enzyme activities per unit of soil organic carbon (SOC) or microbial biomass carbon (MBC) involved in C, N, and P transformations and (2) their relationships with soil environmental factors and soil microbial community structures. The results showed that manure applications led to increases in the absolute and specific activities of soil β-1,4-glucosidase(βG), β-1,4-N-acetylglucosaminidase (NAG), and leucine aminopeptidase (LAP). The absolute and specific acid phosphatase (AP) activities decreased as mineral P fertilizer application rates and ratios increased. Redundancy analysis (RDA) showed that there were negative correlations between absolute and specific AP activities, pH, and total P contents, while there were positive correlations between soil absolute and specific βG, NAG, and LAP enzyme activities, and SOC and total N contents. RDA showed that the contents of actinomycete and Gram-positive bacterium PLFA biomarkers are more closely related to the absolute and specific enzyme activities than the other PLFA biomarkers (P b 0.01). Our results suggest that both the absolute and specific enzyme activities could be used as sensitive soil quality indicators that provide useful linkages with the microbial community structures and environmental factors. To maintain microbial activity and to minimize environmental impacts, P should be applied as a combination of inorganic and organic forms, and total P fertilizer application rates to subtropical paddy soils should not exceed 44 kg P ha −1 year −1 .
1 The Asian longhorned beetle is a destructive trunk borer in forests and urban landscape trees. 2 Dynamic changes in the supercooling capacity of Anoplophora glabripennis larvae in a natural population and the mechanism of cold hardiness during different overwintering periods at physiological and biochemical levels were explored. 3 The results showed that the supercooling point of overwintering larvae decreased initially before increasing subsequently with seasonal changes in ambient temperature. Fresh mass and glycogen tended to decrease initially and then reached their minimum levels in January. Total amounts of low molecular weight substances and free amino acids in the haemolymph increased gradually as the ambient temperature decreased. Glycerol (779.80 ± 29.10 μm/mL) and trehalose (104.35 ± 12.38 μm/mL) concentrations were always higher than those of glucose and mannitol. All low molecular weight substances (besides trehalose) were almost metabolized by early spring. The concentrations of serine, phenylalanine, valine, leucine, proline, glutamic acid and alanine all reached their highest level in the colder winter months. 4 The results of the present study suggest that A. glabripennis larvae accumulate cryoprotectants to improve their supercooling capacity, and enhance cold hardiness by reducing the supercooling point with respect to a decrease in ambient temperature until freezing temperatures appear. Anoplophora glabripennis larvae are a freeze-tolerant insect.
