Assessment is an important component in education that always needed. To improve the quality of education can be done by improving assessment learning quality and system. This study aims to determine the performance of students of grade X SMA N in Bandung West Java Indonesia school with 34 participants on a two-dimensional collision concept. This research is descriptive research which is conducted to examine the condition and situation that is happening, so that gives a fact-based description found in the school in other to find information factually. Problem studies that analyzed are the student’s performance after using PhET simulations on two-dimensional collision concept. The instrument utilized in this study is a written test in the form of students’ worksheets of momentum and impulse. Student worksheets test shows the average percentage on student performance in understandings concept of two-dimensional collision concept is 67.14%. These data indicated that student learning performance in good category. Learning by using virtual laboratory can provide more meaningful learning especially in physics concept that cannot be presented and observed directly in daily life.
This study aims to examine the increase in students’ understanding of the optical geometry concept after being given treatment using the discovery learning model assisted by PhET simulation media and to test the effectiveness of this learning model to improve understanding of the optical geometry concepts. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental and uses the research design The Static Group Pretest-Post-test Design. The sampling technique in this study was taken using purposive sampling, namely where the control and experimental classes were selected based on the suitability of the student’s character with the researcher’s goals. Each experimental and control group consisted of 35 participants. The experimental class used the discovery learning model assisted by PhET simulation media and the control class uses the conventional learning model. The instrument in this study was using a multiple-choice test of 20 questions. Based on the test results of the Independent Sample Test, it obtained a significance value (α = 0.0001 < 0.05), which means that there is a difference in increasing understanding of the optical geometry concept between classes using the discovery Learning model assisted by PhET simulation media using the learning model conventional. Education is the need of every individual and always changes according to the times, science, technology and culture of society. Education is very important in improving the quality of human resources. In study the authors are interested in developing vocabulary board learning media because there are still many students who find it difficult to read. The research method used author this research is (research and development) or what is known the ADDIE development model. This model consists of 5 stages, namely: Analyze, design, Developnet, implementation. Evaluation. The type of data taken this study is quantitative data and quantitative data. The instrument used in this study is validation questionnaire, practicality and effectiveness. Data collection techniques used interview techniques, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are media validation analysis techniques, media practicality analysis and media effectiveness analysis. The results obtained The validity of the vocabulary board learning media as assessed the validator totaled 3 people, indicating vocabulary board learning media obtained a percentage of 89.8% in a very valid category, the vocabulary board learning media is feasible to use and in accordance with the provisions of SDN 308 /VI Rantau Suli. The results of practicality assessed from the teacher response questionnaire and student response questionnaire to the vocabulary board learning media obtained the following percentages: 94% teacher response questionnaire in very practical category, 100% student response questionnaire in very practical category. For the results of the effectiveness assessed from the results of the test questions, it obtained a percentage of 85.2% in the very effective category.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
