Introdução: Com o advento da epidemia global de Covid-19, ocorreu a necessidade de uma rápida reorganização dos fluxos, rotinas e estrutura dos serviços de saúde para conter a disseminação da doença, conferir proteção à população e zelo ao exercício profissional dos trabalhadores da saúde. Pelo menos metade desses profissionais pertence à enfermagem, profissão que possui um papel de suma relevância na agenda global para o acesso, cobertura universal e qualidade da assistência em saúde em face às mudanças epidemiológicas vivenciadas. Objetivo: Relatar a experiência de profissionais de enfermagem frente à reestruturação dos processos de trabalho, decorrentes da pandemia, em uma Unidade de Pronto Atendimento no município de Curitiba-PR. Método: Trata-se de um relato de experiência oriundo da vivência de uma equipe de enfermagem atuante no ambiente pré-hospitalar e do embasamento de documentos oficiais do Ministério da Saúde, coletados no período de fevereiro a abril de 2021, durante o período pandêmico. Resultados: Observou-se no equipamento de saúde em questão a reorganização do serviço por meio de fluxos operacionais, de recursos humanos e estruturais, conforme protocolos orientativos oficiais, e o aumento do potencial de atendimento, sem o colapso local e sem a falta de insumos básicos. No entanto, pode ser evidenciada na unidade uma estrutura física restrita, a oferta de EPIs de baixa qualidade aos profissionais e a subutilização da força de trabalho da enfermagem. Conclusão: A ausência de reconhecimento da enfermagem foi algo marcante para a classe durante a pandemia na instituição estudada, especialmente pela falta de incentivos financeiros e pela subutilização de suas tarefas. Recomenda-se que gestores municipais invistam em políticas de valorização da profissão mencionada.
