Palavras AbstractThis article aims to present and explain the stories of teachers from five municipalities of Rio de Janeiro who participated in a continued education course entitled Teacher Continued Education Cycle for Inclusion of Special Education children: reflecting, planning and acting, occurred during the year 2015. The 2015 version of the course was all filmed and recorded, videos and audios were transcribed and edited, so that generated a considerable amount of data that was transferred to a qualitative analysis software, ATLAS.TI. When we entered the data in the software, the first step taken was to run a word count. In response, the software pointed to a significant use of the word "no" throughout the course. From this finding our curiosity was triggered in order to know: what "no" means? Do they have the same meaning as the "noes" spoken? Thus, we proceeded to categorize and analyze the data using content analysis (Bardin, 1979) and the omnilectical perspective of analysis (SANTOS, 2013). The results of this research have shown us that not always the "no" is relating to denial and those presented in the teachers' narratives relate to different senses, such as the "no" that points to the affectivity, to family neglect, the "no"...
