Human papillomavirus (HPV) has been extensively studied concerning genomic structure, infection mechanisms, and diversity of types, as well as disease progression stages and development of vaccines. HPV type prevalence can differ in specific populations in different countries, according to ethnicity. This is the first report of an integrated project to evaluate the incidence of HPV types in different regions in Brazil in order to obtain data for vaccine development. Cervical samples were collected from women seen at a public hospital in Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil, for routine evaluation of genital alterations. Selection of the patients was random. There was a strong prevalence of HPV16 and a high incidence of HPV types 31 and 33. These data foster the discussion about the need to evaluate viral prevalence in each geographic region in order to develop targeted vaccine programs.
The history of muscle biopsy dates back to 1860, when Duchenne first performed a biopsy on a patient with symptoms of myopathy (1) . Since then, the basic and clinical science of muscle and muscle disease has gone through three stages of development: the classical period, the modern stage and the molecular era.
OBJECTIVES: to evaluate whether repeating Papanicolaou smear testing at the time of colposcopy improves agreement between cytology and histopathology in the diagnosis of cervical cancer. METHODS: this cross-sectional study included 397 women referred for colposcopic evaluation following an abnormal cervical smear test. The cytology was repeated at the time of the colposcopy using a conventional medium. The two cytology tests were compared with each other and with the histopathological findings obtained by colposcopy-directed biopsy. The 2001 Bethesda system and the WHO 1994 classification were used for reporting cytology and histology results. The kappa coefficient was used to determine the agreement between methods. RESULTS: the comparison between the initial cytology findings and cytology performed at the time of colposcopy revealed a kappa of 0.297 (95%CI: 0.235-0.359), indicating a fair degree of agreement. When the results of the initial cytology were compared with histopathology, a kappa of 0.261, considered to represent a fair degree of agreement, was obtained (95%CI: 0.181-0.340). A kappa of 0.408, considered to represent moderate agreement, was found when the second cytology findings were compared with the histopathology (95%CI: 0.332-0.485). CONCLUSIONS: the agreement between cytology and histology improved when cytology was repeated at the time of colposcopy, following an initial abnormal test.

e17531 Background: Cervical cancer (CC) is the most frequent type of cancer on woman at reproductive age and on the puerperal pregnancy cycle in Brazil. It is a disease that can be prevented with the resources already available at Brazil’s public healthcare system. The most important risk factor for developing cervical cancer is infection with human papillomavirus (HPV). With the covid 19 pandemic, there was an advance in the possibility of carrying out an HPV test by PCR by through the government initiative "uterus is life" and we was asked what age should start the HPV test in the proposed screening organized. Methods: Descriptive, observational, cross sectional study Carried two cancer centers( using an adapted form, between 2020 2021 Sociodemographic data, cancer characteristics. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data and evaluation of secondary data from the ministry of health (DATASUS) This study was approved by the institution’s ethics committee. Recife, Brazil. Results: From 2021 -2022, 240 patients with CC mean age 50,48y (SD ± 13.8; range 24-87), 15, 8 % < 35 y, age of first sexual intercourse: mean age 16,7 (SD ± 3.2, range 11- 30) and 79,6 % < 18y. age of first pregnancy mean 18 (SD ± 6.54; range 12- 36) 77,4 % < 18 y.In the year 2019 of the number of patients undergoing treatment in the Brazilian public system (SUS), by age group, 14.076 patients <35 y (58%). $821,000 was spent in 2019 on anticancer chemotherapy for CC in women < 35 y. Conclusions: With a view to establishing an organized screening policy using the HPV test, considering the window of opportunity to diagnose the non-invasive cervical cancer stage, the onset of sexual activity and the age of first pregnancy among patients with invasive cervical cancer and the representativeness of patients with < 35 years undergoing treatment for advanced CC. The "Utero é Vida" initiative recommended starting the screening of the HPV test from the age of 25 y, in addition to intensifying vaccination coverage against HPV.
