Crotalaria longirostrata Hook. & Arn. se cultiva tradicionalmente en huertos familiares del sureste de México, debido a que sus hojas contienen alto valor nutritivo. Considerando el potencial que tiene esta planta como fuente proteica, se realizó el presente trabajo con el objetivo de conocer las especies de insectos asociados a esta fabácea en La Chontalpa, Tabasco. Entre mayo de 2018 y febrero de 2019 se realizaron observaciones y colectas de insectos en siete localidades. Se revisaron 1,344 especímenes, que correspondieron a cinco órdenes, 19 familias y 45 especies morfológicamente distintas, de las cuales 21 (46.6%) se colectaron en las inflorescencias, 18 (40%) en el follaje, cinco (11.1%) en los frutos y una (2.2%) en el tallo. Las especies que se consideran plagas importantes del follaje son Disonycha teapensis Blake (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), Utetheisa ornatrix Linnaeus (Lepidoptera: Erebidae) y Caliothrips phaseoli (Hood) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), para las cuales se sugiere la búsqueda de métodos de control sustentable.
