La música académica latinoamericana representa un gran valor cultural para los países que conforman los continentes sur y centroamericano. Estos repertorios han impactado no solamente sus entornos locales, sino que también han sido interpretados en diversas latitudes. A pesar de esto, existe un número considerable de compositores que no han sido ampliamente difundidos local ni en el exterior. Con esta propuesta buscamos fomentar en estudiantes y profesionales el estudio y la interpretación de música académica latinoamericana, en la comunidad de la Universidad de Cundinamarca y también en ámbitos académicos nacionales e internacionales. El proyecto Registro sonoro y descripción analítica de obras latinoamericanas para violín y guitarra seleccionadas - siglos XX y XXI, desarrollado en el grupo de investigación Udecarte, consiste en el acercamiento a un repertorio conformado por obras latinoamericanas originales escritas para el formato de violín y guitarra. Debido a la naturaleza del proyecto (investigación-creación), los productos proyectados incluyen producción bibliográfica y de obras artísticas tanto efímeras como permanentes, orientadas a la generación de nuevo conocimiento y a fortalecer la capacidad artística y científica nacional. Este inventario recopila 32 obras de 27 compositores, escritas originalmente para el formato violín y guitarra por compositores latinoamericanos de los siglos XX y XXI, y sintetiza el resultado de una búsqueda bibliográfica realizada por los autores durante la ejecución del proyecto de investigación.
El libro GUILLERMO QUEVEDO ZORNOZA. Breves anotaciones sobre su vida y obra, es producto del trabajo realizado por el equipo docente del programa de música adscrito al grupo UDECARTE en el marco del proyecto de investigación: La producción musical del maestro Guillermo Quevedo Zornoza. Breve reconstrucción biográfica y musical. En el primer capítulo se presenta la biografía del maestro Quevedo y reflexiones sobre el impacto de su labor y sus aportes a Zipaquirá y a la formación de Gabriel García Márquez. En un segundo apartado se repasa el contexto en el que se enmarca su obra haciendo énfasis en el nacionalismo, para dar paso en un tercer capítulo a la descripción general de su obra y una mirada profunda a la música vocal y para la escena. Como cuarta sección, se realiza el análisis de seis piezas partiendo de la descripción del contexto del pasillo y el bambuco en el país y se finaliza con el capítulo dedicado a una colección de 12 pasillos para piano (11 inéditos) que fueron tomados de los manuscritos (y uno de la única versión impresa disponible) y digitalizados para generar una colección completa que evidencie el pensamiento y trabajo del compositor. Se incluye además un corto análisis y generalidades sobre la colección. La ausencia de material académico escrito sobre el maestro Quevedo y su música hacen de este libro pieza fundamental para la difusión y el reconocimiento del músico Zipaquireño y de la identidad cultural de la región y el departamento.
