A randomized design was used in a 2 x 3 factorial arrangement with five replications and 10 cuttings per plot. The appraised variables were: percentage of leaf retention, percentage
ABSTRACT:The high susceptibility to diseases of fine table grapes cultivars demand intensive use of pesticides, and the presence of water on the leaf surface can worsen the deposition of these products. The objective of this study was to evaluate the spray deposition in vine leaves in different conditions of leaf wetness, and test the effectiveness of an artificial ventilation method to remove water on the leaf surface. We evaluated the spray deposition in vine applied over: wet canopy (presence of high leaf wetness); canopy dried artificially (dried with air jet from air-assisted sprayer, wind speed of 25 km h -1 ) and canopy dried naturally (naturally dried leaves and free of water on its surface). Saline marker was used in the spray and the deposition on the canopy was determined by conductimetry. A pesticide application in vine, with the presence of water in the leaf surface, causes losses by run-off and reduces the deposit of spraying. The use of air jet formed by air-assisted sprayer fan is efficient for the removal of water on the vine leaf surface and its use can increase the favorable period for the application of pesticides without causing dilution and losses by run-off of the applied product.
Sowing date and fungicide application in the agronomic performance of oleaginous brassica for the biodiesel production 1 This work aims to evaluate the agronomic performance of crambe and juncea canola, sowed in the summer and winter season intervals with and without fungicide application. The cultivars used were FMS Brilhante and Terola 25A85 for crambe and juncea canola, respectively. The experimental design was randomized blocks in split plots, in which the plots were sowing dates 15 th May (E1), 1 st June (E2) and 15 th June 2014 (E3), and the split plots with and without aboveground part with fungicide (trifloxystrobin 150 g L-1 + prothioconazole 175 g L-1). The evaluated variables were plant height, thousand seed weight, seed yield, oil content and oil yield. The sowing dates had had influence only on plant height for crambe, while juncea canola had a significant effect on plant height, seed yield and oil yield. The fungicide application gave higher seed yield for crambe and for juncea canola, higher thousand seed weight, seed yield and oil yield. With the production technologies adopted for the growth of these two brassicas, it is necessary to obtain higher yields of seeds and oil, to enable the commercial exploration in the interval between the summer and winter off-season in the Northern region of Paraná state, Brazil
How it is simple equipment, there are few resources available to improve the quality of the application. The aim of this paper was to study the effect of air assistance, with manual override, in the deposition and percentage of coverage applied on the leaves of coffee plants, situated internally and externally. The equipment consisted of a sprayer coastal pressurized by CO 2 attached to an air assistance equipment. At the exit of air assistance equipment a hose was adapted for driving the air flow
