Nos últimos tempos aconteceram mudanças significativas na Amazônia que ocasionaram às perdas de grade extensão das áreas de florestas remanescentes. Nesse contexto, a presente pesquisa objetivou avaliar a influência dos principais fatores determinantes e gestões governamentais no combate ao desmatamento dos municípios da Amazônia Legal no período de 2003 a 2020. Para tanto, estimou-se o modelo de painel balanceado - Efeito Aleatório (EA). Os principais resultados indicaram que parcela majoritária dos municípios apresentaram até 10% de suas áreas desmatadas. Concernente aos resultados empíricos, constatou-se que a expansão da economia, da área de lavoura, da pecuária bovina e da população são fatores significantes para explicar o aumento do desmatamento. Verificou-se também que os municípios do estado do Pará apresentaram desmatamento maior que todas as sedes municipais dos estados amazônicos, com exceção do estado de Rondônia. Ademais, notou-se que foi na gestão do presidente Bolsonaro que aconteceram as maiores elevações no desflorestamento.
O presente estudo se propôs a mensurar os escores de eficiência técnica e de escala dos estabelecimentos agropecuários das 35 regiões intermediárias nordestinas para o ano de 2017, que têm os dados mais atualizados. Para este fim,utilizou-se um modelo em dois estágios: o método Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), em português, Análise Envoltória de Dados, com orientação insumo e o Tobit normal truncado. Os resultados obtidos por meio do DEA, revelaram que parcelamajoritária das regiões intermediárias se mostraram plenamente eficientes, tanto do ponto de vista técnico como de escala. Ademais, por meio do modelo Tobit normal truncado, pode-se inferir que a adubação, a irrigação, o acesso ao financiamento e a escolaridade ensino médio regular elevam a eficiência. Enquanto, fatores como área total dos estabelecimentos, assistência técnica, rotação de cultura e plantio em curva de nível, afetam negativamente a eficiência no segmento.
Nas últimas décadas, devido a dinâmica da economia e as mudanças na produção, o mercado de trabalho do país e especialmente do Nordeste, passou por transformações que promoveram distintas mudanças no crescimento nacional e regional. Desse modo, a pesquisa se propõe analisar a localização, especialização e decomposição do emprego formal em oito setores produtivos no Nordeste em 2010 a 2015 e 2015 a 2020. Para tanto, utilizou-se do Quociente Locacional (QL), Coeficiente de Especialização (CE) e o shift-share clássico. Os resultados indicaram que a localização do emprego é diversa em sua maioria, mas que parcela significativa possui dependência em dois ou mais setores. Sobre a especialização, constata-se que a estrutura de emprego dos estados é próxima à do Nordeste. Concernente a decomposição do emprego, no período de 2010 a 2015, o componente regional foi o que mais influenciou positivamente a variação do emprego nos estados e, de 2015 a 2020 foi o maior responsável pelo retraimento da mão de obra da maior parte dos estados. Sendo os segmentos de administração, serviços e comércio, as principais causas pela elevação ou retraimento do emprego de 2010/2015 a 2015/2020.
Os problemas enfrentados pelos gestores públicos na área da saúde, vão desde a limitação dos recursos públicos a alta demanda da sociedade pelos serviços disponibilizados pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), o que preconiza que esses gestores prezem pela eficiência na utilização dos recursos. Nesse contexto, este estudo busca mensurar os escores de eficiência técnica e de escala dos gastos com saúde de 1694 municípios do Nordeste e identificar os fatores determinantes dessa eficiência. Para tanto, empregou-se o modelo de Análise Envoltória de Dados (DEA) e o modelo de regressão quantílica, utilizando dados secundários tendo como ano base 2019. Os principais resultados mostram que poucos municípios estão em um nível totalmente eficiente e que a maioria deles estão na classe entre 0,50 e 0,75 de nível de eficiência. A partir da regressão quantílica nota-se que existem fatores socioeconômicos e demográficos que estão associados aos diferentes níveis de eficiência. Um fato relevante é que o município que mais gastou com saúde por habitante foi o que teve o menor escore de eficiência, no modelo DEA com retornos constantes à escala. Isso indica que maiores gastos não necessariamente estão associados a maiores escores de eficiência.
