Research was conducted to identify the diversity of technologies in an integrated farming system for horticulture and beef cattle. Furthermore, it observed the improving of farmer income that used this model. There were primary and secondary data with the survey method for farmers in Pekanbaru. The result showed the integrated farming system kept up to 21 heads of beef cattle and 4,22 ha of holticultures. Every farmer had around 0,3 ha farmland and approximately 4 to 5 heads of beef cattle. Finally, the integrated farming system increased the farmer income about Rp 9.731.147 per cultivating period of holticultures and about Rp. 9.345.328 per year of keeping the beef cattles.
Farming is currently carried out with organic farming, so compost is needed to replace chemical fertilizers. The use of fertilizers made from organic raw materials is highly recommended, because fertilizers made from compost can help help nutrients in the soil, besides compost can also be made from raw materials that are around our environment.. Using compost can help farmers save on production costs, because compost can be made from unused raw materials. For example, compost derived from cow dung, usually does not have a price and benefits, it turns out that it can be used as a raw material for making compost so that this utilization can reduce production costs that are usually incurred by farmers. The purpose of this service is to provide knowledge to partners that it turns out that the livestock waste they cultivate can be used as raw material for composting so that livestock waste in the form of cow dung can be overcome and can also help farmers reduce costs incurred for farming which is also they do. Compost made from cow dung is very helpful in soil fertility and can be seen directly by its benefits for plants and soil. Conclusion The use of cow dung into compost is to reduce livestock manure waste. This community service activity is concluded to have improved the participants' knowledge, understanding, and skills by an average of 81.25%
Maraknya menanam tanaman dengan cara Hidroponik saat ini, banyak digemari karena tidak memerlukan tanah dan lahan yang luas. Dengan menanam dengan cara hidroponik, hasil panen akan lebih cepat namun perlu untuk memperhatikan ketepatan dalam pemberian nutrisi, intensitas cahaya dan suhu sekitar tanaman. Menanam hidroponik menggunakan metode NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) dibutuhkan aliran air yang tetap terjaga, tujuannya untuk mengalirkan air nutrisi pada akar tanaman. Dalam praktiknya, PLN digunakan untuk menghidupkan pompa air tersebut namun bila suplai energi dari PLN mati akibat gangguan atau kealpaan maka pasokan nutrisi tanaman juga akan ikut terhenti sehingga diperlukan suatu solusi. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis akan membuat desain sistem pembangkit Tenaga Surya (Panel Surya) serta sistem kendali terhadap aliran air yang akan memasok nutrisi ke tanaman hidroponik tersebut.

The Unilak Community Service Team has the required knowledge, and through this activity a transfer of knowledge is carried out, so that the Garbage Bank Cadres will more optimally manage the waste that has been collected in the Waste Banks of each RW. The method of activities that will be given to the community is, awareness, counseling, demonstration, and evaluation. Awareness is intended to give awareness to the Garbage Bank Cadre that managing waste into compost will have a positive impact on the environment. Counseling aims to provide knowledge to the community so that they are more sensitive to their environment, so that the environment will provide results that benefit their families. Demonstration aims to provide knowledge directly, both through picture shows, and direct practice making compost from household waste. And an evaluation is carried out to determine the level of knowledge of partners before and after the activity, and to find out the success of the activity.
urban areas in general shows an increase in population growth and buildings which results in reduced water catchment areas that can cause flooding during the rainy season and also poor air quality that can be generated from forest fires from the surrounding area. This also happened in the Bambu Kuning Village. the team offered to increase youth awareness by providing knowledge about the importance of the environment for human life and with that knowledge young people could implement it into an action or movement. The Lecturer Team cooperates with the Center for Management of Watersheds and Protected Forests in the procurement of seeds. The seeds given are Soursop, Matoa, Mahoni, Pulai, Gaharu and Ketapang Kencana. the implementation of seed assistance not only distributed to Youth Groups RW 09, only Bambu Kuning Village, but there were requests for seeds from other parties. Other parties are: residents in RW 013 East Sidomulyo Village Marpoyan Damai Subdistrict, Agricultural Vocational High School, 6th High School, Zamrad Kindergarten, 8th Vocational School, Nature Unilak Student Student Group and Unilak BEM Student Organization. An interesting finding in the field is the desire of the Senior High School Negeri 8 in Palas to make cooperation for lecturers to do PKM in their schools for students in the school who need to be followed up. Hal ini juga terjadi di Kelurahan Bambu Kuning, untuk itu tim menawarkan untuk meningkatkan kepedulian pemuda dengan memberikan pengetahuan tentang pentingnya lingkungan hidup bagi kehidupan manusia dan dengan pengetahuan tersebut pemuda dapat mengimplementasikannya kedalam suatu tindakan atau gerakan. Tim Pengabdian Dosen bekerjasama dengan Balai Pengelolaan Daerah Aliran Sungai dan Hutan Lindung dalam pengadaan bibit. Bibit yang diberikan adalah bibit Sirsak, Matoa, Mahoni, Pulai, Gaharu dan Ketapang Kencana. Dalam pelaksanaan bantuan bibit tidak saja didistribusikan ke Kelompok Pemuda RW 09 Kelurahan Bambu Kuning saja, tetapi ada permintaan bibit dari pihak lainnya. Pihak lain tersebut adalah: warga di RW 013 Kelurahan Sidomulyo Timur Kecamatan Marpoyan Damai, SMK Pertanian, SMA N 6 , TK Zamrad, SMK N 8, Kelompok Mahasiswa Pencinta Alam Unilak dan Organisasi Mahasiswa BEM Unilak. Temuan yang menarik di lapangan adalah adanya keinginan dari SMA N 8 Kelurahan Palas untuk membuat kerjasama bagi dosen untuk melakukan pengabdian di sekolahnya untuk siswa-siswa di sekolah tersebut yang perlu untuk ditindak lanjuti. .
