Há uma discrepância entre o número de homens e mulheres no âmbito da Ciência e Engenharia da Computação, gerando uma baixa participação feminina no mercado da tecnologia [1] [2]. Um estudo [3] realizado no CI/UFPB identificou que dentre as principais dificuldades encontradas pelas alunas de graduação para permanecerem nos cursos de computação está a programação, sendo que apenas 17% das graduandas diziam já ter algum conhecimento prévio sobre programação. Diante disso, o projeto "Oficinas de Programação para Meninas do Ensino Médio: estimulando o interesse pela computação", realizado junto às alunas do 1 o ano do Ensino Médio no Colégio da Polícia Militar, em João Pessoa, tem o intuito de proporcionar às alunas o primeiro contato com a área de programação, promover o empoderamento feminino na educação bem como despertar o interesse pela computação para que esta seja considerada como possível escolha profissional. Metodologia. O ensino da programação é feito de forma lúdica e intuitiva, utilizando as ferramentas computacionais LightBot, Code.org e MIT App Inventor, as quais permitem estimular o raciocínio lógico e computacional, ensinar conceitos de programação através do desenvolvimento de jogos e aplicações móveis, possibilitanto às alunas criarem seus próprios aplicativos de forma simples e descomplicada. As oficinas estão organizadas em 4 etapas: aplicação de questionário contendo questões intuitivas de raciocínio lógico e questões de cunho pessoal com o objetivo de conhecer o perfil das alunas; jogar o Lightbot com o objetivo de estimular o raciocínio lógico, a organização do pensamento computacional e a capacidade de solucionar problemas; trabalhar com o Code.org conceitos básicos de programação como as estruturas de controle sequencial, condicional e repetição e conceitos mais avançados como a programação em blocos, a depuração e a recursividade; utilizar o ambiente de programação MIT App Inventor para criar aplicativos completos que abordam os conteúdos estudados na etapa anterior.Resultados. A média de acertos das questões de raciocínio lógico foi de 52% e nenhuma das alunas teve desempenho muito abaixo das outras ficando todas próximas à média. Quando perguntado sobre a suas expectativas em relação ao projeto e motivação/interesse, foram obtidas respostas como "Espero que desperte a vontade para entrar na área da tecnologia" e "melhorar a aprendizagem de lógica de programação". A atividade com o LightBot foi terminada em menos de uma hora de duração cumprindo o seu objetivo. Nas atividades com o Code.org as alunas executaram as fases propostas embora algumas tenham relatado que em alguns momentos a atividade fica repetitiva e portanto cansativa. A utilização do ambiente App Inventor permitiu o desenvolvimento de 3 aplicativos: calculadora, agenda e Papagaio (TalkToMe), onde a fala era convertida em texto e reproduzida em forma de som pelo aplicativo.
