A evapotranspiração de referência é uma importante variável cuja estimativa é de grande relevância para a gestão de recursos hídricos de forma sustentável. Objetivou-se avaliar o desempenho de diferentes métodos de estimativas da evapotranspiração de referência, na escala interdecadal, no município de Bom Jesus/PI. Os dados das variáveis meteorológicas foram obtidos através da plataforma NASA-POWER (1981 a 2020) e divididos em intervalo de décadas (I - 1981 a 1990; II - 1991 a 2000; III - 2001 a 2010 e IV - 2011 a 2020). Os métodos analisados foram Andrade Júnior, Benavides-Lopez, Camargo, Hamon, Hargreaves-Samani, Jensen-Haise e Linacre, que foram comparados ao método de Penman-Monteith FAO56, sendo este o método padrão. Realizou-se cálculos dos coeficientes de determinação e correlação, índices de concordância e de desempenho e erro padrão de estimativa. Observou-se que os métodos Camargo e Hamon foram classificados conforme o índice de desempenho como péssimo em todas as décadas analisadas. Os métodos de Linacre, Benavides-Lopez e Andrade Júnior variaram em sua classificação de desempenho de muito bom a ótimo. Sendo, o método de Linacre o que apresentou o melhor desempenho independente da década análise, sendo, portanto, recomendado para a estimativa da evapotranspiração de referência no município de Bom Jesus, Piauí.
