The purpose of the research is to identify the changes that appear from the point of view of consumer behavior in the consumption of tourist services in the post-pandemic period with the analysis carried out on the number of tourist arrivals in Romania, the distribution of the number of tourists on tourist destinations, the capacity of tourist accommodation. and identifying the share of tourism in the Gross Domestic Product of Romania in the period 2008-2020. According to the research carried out, there is a significant decrease in the tourism industry in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a competitive return in 2021. The impact of the tourism industry on the economic development of Romania was felt at the national level. by decreasing the weight of the gross domestic product. and implicitly of the revenues received from the provision of services. Consumers notice that they are much more oriented towards digitization in the tourism industry, towards the discovery of new places to visit and with potential involvement in the sustainable development of industries. The analysis carried out suggests opportunities for investment and development of tourism in less popular areas, which can be discovered and promoted in the context of the new reality in order to increase visibility and explore the potential they hold. The tourist accommodation capacity is unevenly distributed among the tourist destinations in Romania, with most accommodation places being in seaside resorts, with the exception of Constanta, while the capacity in spa resorts and in the mountain area is lower. Thus, the need to preserve and capitalize on resources from lesser-known areas with potential is identified, in order to develop the necessary infrastructure, to increase accommodation capacities and to attract as many tourists as possible.
Since the worldwide lockdown, travel and related business were the most affected by a health crisis, and most government measures were to limit non-essential travel, which translated as a total shut down for most of the accommodations or reduction in the volume of tourists. This paper analyzes the effects of pandemics on domestic travel, the measures taken, and their influence on tourism recovery. The research method is a quantitative analysis of the National Institute of Statistics data, aiming to determine the link between the number of tourists checked in and the positive numbers of the novel coronavirus using the Pearson correlation method. The study results indicated that the relationship between the analyzed variables is positive, and the consequences of the pandemic in Romania are devastating to destination tourism. The significant increase in confirmed case frequencies has caused an average decrease of over 50% in tourist arrivals in the accommodation structures in 2020, that is 6 million people, too many for the Romanian economy.
Nowadays, the organic market is growing more and more. Most people are having a preoccupation of what they eat, and the benefits of their eating habits. Growth domestic product means the total of money spent by businesses and consumers in given period. It is used by economic industry to measure the progress of a country. An economy that is developing and progressing has a higher growth domestic product. On the other hand, the interest of an individual that has already covered his primal needs tends to move towards its wealth, being more careful of what he eats than having concerns of whether it can afford food. At the opposed pole are the countries that have a lower growth domestic product per capita, where it is highly visible that the concern is inclined towards affording any kind of food and not towards food's provenience. This level of interest was mostly reached in countries that have a higher growth domestic product per capita and an educated population. The internal motivation of population sets the trends towards consumption, therefore looking into a country's growth domestic product's rate and wealth, it is visible that where its population has reached a certain level of wealth, the organic market tends to grow also as a response to a higher demand. Therefore, the wealthier a country is the higher the number of organic operators is. This paper aims to analyze this correlation between GDP and the number of organic operators.
