Eine Pufferung in letztgenanntem extremem Aus-ma8 wurde wohl nur bei Boden mit hohem Gehalt an organischer Substanz moglich sein. Der Basenspiegel, dessen Pegelstand die pH-Zahl anzeigt, wurde also bei hohem Pufferwert sehr vie1 niedriger sein konnen, als bei schwacher Pufferung, ohne den Ernteertrag zu gefahrden, weil einmal dann immer noch genugend Kalk im Boden ist und auch die Bildung des Austauschsaure verzogert wird.
Zusammenfassung :J e groRer der Pufferwert und damit der basenfassende Raum eines Bodens ist, um so niedriger kann der Sauregrad, also die pH-Zahl sein, ohne da8 die Erntehohe beeintrachtigt wird. Auch die Lemmermannschen Befunde sprechen mehr fur die Beurteilung nach den Kalkmengen als fur die nach dem Sauregrad. 1st der Boden schlecht gepuffert, muR die pH-Zahl eine hohere sein, um genugend Basengehalt, also in praxi wohl immer Kalk, anzuzeigen.Es erscheint daher zweckmaRig, die Beurteilung der Boden auf den Kalkbedarf durch Heranziehung des Pufferwertes und Dispersionsgrades zu vertiefen, bzw. sie auf eine neue Basis zu sltellen, da gut puffernde Boden mit einer niedrigeren pH-Zahl auskommen konnen, als schlecht puff ernde.
