Development of the bearing technology with deformable elements of the bearing sleeve utilization are presented in the paper. Foil or a set of foils with the viscoelastic properties comprise the deformable element. Foil bearing technology is utilized mostly in the high-speed turbo machines, such as the energetic microturbines. This results the bearing operating regime: high rotational speed, high temperature, work in the friction conditions during machine start-up and rundown. Three foil bearing generations, which differ in the structure and properties with regard to load capacity, stiffness and undesirable variation damping, were distinguished in such bearing development. Technical solutions of the foil journal and thrust bearings were shown.
K e y w o r d s: foil bearing, high-speed machines bearings, bearing systems testing. A b s t r a c t Selected methods of testing applied in the research centres dealing with foil bearings technology are overviewed in this paper. Tests analyzing foil bearings require special test rigs and a testing methodology that simulates the bearings' actual working conditions. Test rigs should allow factors, that influence on a bearing's exact operating environment. For this reason, most tests investigate selected key parameters Tribological tests under extreme bearing operating temperatures and with the effect of lubricants make a separate group of tests. Another tests group is focused on the optimal bearing stiffness determination through the choice of adequate structural solutions and manufacturing technologies. Foil bearing test methods presented in this paper do not exhaust the study domain, in which new constructions may be tested. They only overview basic test methods used for the foil bearing systems.
The article presents the results of a study aiming to select the optimal source of heat for a newly designed single-family home. Commercial software was used to compare heating and ventilation systems involving a bituminous coal boiler, a condensing gas boiler, a biomass boiler, and a heat pump with water and glycol as heat transfer media. The effectiveness of natural ventilation, mechanical ventilation with a groundcoupled heat exchanger, and solar heater panels (flat and tubular) for water heating was evaluated. The analysis was based on the annual demand for useful energy, final energy and non-renewable primary energy in view of the pollution output of the evaluated heating systems. The analysis revealed that the heat pump with water and glycol as heat transfer media was the optimal solution. However, the performance of the heat pump in real-life conditions was below its maximum theoretical efficiency. The biomass boiler contributed to the highest reduction in pollutant emissions, but it was characterized by the highest demand for final energy. Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery was required in all analyzed systems to achieve the optimal results. Laboratory analyses confirmed the high efficiency of the tube heat exchanger in winter.
W pracy przedstawiono proces postępowania podczas doboru rodzaju kierownic do silnika wiatrowego typu Savonius metodą symulacji komputerowej. SŁOWA KLUCZOWE: analiza numeryczna, turbina wiatrowa, kierownicaThe paper presents the proceeding during stators type selection for the Savonius-type wind turbine using computer simulation. Numerical flow analysis was carried out in SolidWorks software with the SolidWorks Flow Simulation package. Several configurations of the wind turbine set, the results analysis procedure and conclusions based on them, were also described. KEYWORDS: numerical analysis, turbine Savonius, statorZasada działania silnika wiatrowego typu Savonius polega na różnicy naporu aerodynamicznego i ciśnień powstających na poszczególnych łopatach wskutek opływu wiatru wokół i wewnątrz turbiny, którą opisano w wielu publikacjach, np. [1,2]. Poszczególne konfiguracje z daną ilością łopat odnoszono do turbiny Savoniusa bez zastosowania układu kierownic.Wymiary gabarytowe turbin przedstawionych na rys. 1÷3 mają zbliżone wartości. Analiza numerycznaAnalizę numeryczną przeprowadzono w środowisku SolidWorks z dodatkiem Flow Simulation. Wszystkie symulacje przedstawione w niniejszym artykule przeprowadzono dla prędkości wiatru równej 10 m/s wzdłuż osi Y, uwzględniając jednakowe wartości ciśnienia i temperatury obecne w obszarze obliczeniowym (ciśnienie 101 325 Pa, temperatura 20 °C). Analiza numerycznaAnalizę numeryczną przeprowadzono w środowisku SolidWorks z dodatkiem Flow Simulation. Podczas analizy wybranego zespołu turbiny wykorzystywano konfiguracje oraz opcję Clone Project, aby wyznaczyć rozkład ...
