Optimal organization of clinical practice training in the structures of obstetric-gynaecological health care is a precondition for shaping professional competences of students of speciality "midwife". Clinical practice creates conditions for mastering and perfecting midwife competences, as well as setting up professionally significant personal qualities and behaviour. The purpose of the present study is to reveal the resources for optimizing the clinical organization in the training of the studentsmidwives. The results of the study are analyzed according to the following basic problems: students' satisfaction of the distribution of clinical practice exercises; students' satisfaction of the clinical practice quality; students' satisfaction of the organization of clinical practice implementation.

INTRODUCTION: For the effective formation of knowledge, skills and competences, for their improvement and application in practice, the attitudes and motivation of the individual are essential. AIM: The aim of the study is to investigate and analyze the attitudes and motivation of students, enrolled in the Midwife program at Trakia University, to develop communicative competence in the process of training or the inclination of practicing midwives in health institutions to improve their communicative competence. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The size of the representative sample was 467 respondents, of which 73 were midwives working in the system of hospital obstetric care, 226 -patients, 155 -students enrolled in the Midwife program at the Trakia University, and 13 -lecturers. The results were processed with reliable mathematical and statistical methods and provided enough information to draw the necessary conclusions. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: It was determined that students from the Midwife program at Trakia University are highly critical of the level of their communication skills and have a positive attitude and motivation towards their improvement during the learning process. A significant part of practicing midwives are not critical of the level of communicative competence and have no motivation to improve in this direction.
The optimization of the educational process in the higher medical school and the achievement of its basic goal - the formation of professional competencies of health professionals, requires the introduction of modern, interactive technologies and use of the advantages of digital and media technologies. The research aims to determine the role and importance of digital media literacy of midwife students for the process of acquiring professional competencies. An anonymous survey was conducted in the period December 2021 - January 2022, with 73 respondents, students majoring in midwifery, studying at the Faculty of Medicine and Haskovo Branch, Thrakia University, Stara Zagora, Republic of Bulgaria. The study identifies the following indicators of digital media literacy of students: frequency of use of the Internet and social media in educational activities, self-assessment of selection skills and effective use of information on health topics. It was ascertained: relatively good confidence of the midwife students in their own abilities to search and find adequate information, relevant to the set goals and objectives of the educational process; the need to further develop the digital media literacy of students in order to improve the effectiveness of educational activities.
