Like many coasts, coastal erosion is evident on all the Ivorian coast and is characterized by the destruction of physical assets (infrastructure, habitat and sightseeing). Especially in Grand-Lahou, it threatens a fishing village located on a strip of land 200 meters separating the Atlantic Ocean from the Tadjo lagoon and facing the mouth of the Bandama River. To contribute to the choice of sustainable coastal development in Grand-Lahou, this study aims to characterize the dynamics of the coastline by performing coastal erosion map locally for the best appreciation of the erosion phenomenon. To do this, the GIS which consisted of compilation of coastlines data from Landsat images from 1998, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2014 in the study area. The dynamic of the coastline in this zone was done through the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAW). The variations observed between 1998 and 2014 show a coastline fattening at an average rate of 2.09 m / year in the west of the river mouth before Lahou-Kpanda village and erosion with a speed of 0.84 m / year on rest of the shore after Lahou Kpanda village.
Like the coasts of the world, the phenomenon of coastal erosion is manifested on the entire coast of Togo and has continued to be acute since the construction of the Autonomous Port of Lome in 1967. It is characterized by the destruction of socioeconomic goods (infrastructures, habitats and tourist sites). On the coasts of the Baguida and Agbodreafo cantons in particular, erosion threatens fishing activities, the beach economy, tourist sites and villages such as Gbodjomé, Gbétsogbé, Agbavi, DoèviKopé and Payimé. In order to contribute to sustainable coastal development choices in Baguida-Agbodrafo, this study aims to characterize the dynamics of the coastline by producing a map of coastal erosion at the local scale for better appreciation of the phenomenon of erosion. To do this, the geomatics approach consisted of extracting and compiling the various shoreline from the 1986, 2001, 2010, 2013, and 2017 Landsat images of the study area. The measurement of shoreline development in this area of the coastline was done through the MobiTC Software. The variations observed between 1986 and 2017 show an eroding coastline at an average rate of-2.92 m / year.
Faced with the threat of overfishing in Africa, this study was initiated in the coastal zone of Côte d'Ivoire to understand the nutrients availability as function of variation in the depth of thermocline. Data from the ocean bank, World Ocean Atlas (WOA), were used in the ODV software during the twelve months of 2009 taken at 5.5°W/4.5°N (station coordinates). ODV software has allowed to make seasonal analysis, from vertical profiles and latitudinal analysis from the coast toward the sea through some parameters such as temperature, nitrate, phosphate and oxygen. The depth of thermocline, nitracline, phosphacline and oxycline was determined by the seasonal analysis. To evaluate the enrichment intensity of coast towards the sea, latitudinal analysis was investigated using the section profiles (1°S/5°N European Scientific Journal November 2017 edition Vol.13, No.33 ISSN: 1857 -7881 (Print) e -ISSN 1857-7431 216 coordinates). The main results have shown not only the variation in the depth of the thermocline, but also the variation of nitracline, phosphacline and oxycline at different marine seasons. During the cold season, there was an ascent of the thermocline over the surface of water and a strong enrichment from the coast to the sea especially in August. While in hot season, the thermocline was lower and its stability has favoured the stratification of the water column, which prevents the enrichment of the oxygenated surface layer. Analysis of relationships shows that nutrient elements and oxygen change polynomially with temperature.
