This article aims to know and critically analyze the ethical responsibilities of Levinas. He gives a new concept of responsibility. For him, ethics is the first philosophy. The ethics of Levinas's responsibilities must be understood in a metaphysical aspect. The research method used is literature research using hermeneutics method. The essence of Levinas’s responsibility: responsibility as an existential fact, nonnormative, for the others, substitutional, the essential structure of subjectivity, a basis for existence, the responsibility of humanizing himself, and responsibilities make me unique from others. The ethics of Levinas's responsibilities have two characters: concrete and asymmetric.
Spirituality is considered to be an essential nature of human being that strengthens their purpose and mental power to do something for the betterment of many people. Spirituality is considered as a part of theology or other divine disciplines. Spirituality is becoming an important topic in Management and Economics, particularly in entrepreneurship. It is an animating force and vital principle that motivates entrepreneurs to run a business which is not merely for making profit but, enabling them to better serve people. A real spiritual entrepreneur is not just looking for their own benefit, but for the betterment of others. Any business which is beneficial and helpful to others will grow better and enjoy economic benefits. Spirituality is in line with the core principle of entrepreneurs, which is doing business to meet customers' need. One characteristic of spirituality is seeking to transcend the ego or their own self-centered interests. That is why spirituality is very important for entrepreneurs. It can be considered as a capital that has a number of core elements such as being driven by deep values, having a clear sense of purpose, and involving applied ethics in service.
The aim of this research is to explain influence smartphone on learning motivation of students in elementary school, Mapanget Subdistrict, Manado City. This research is in four elementary schools: SD Inpres 03 Paniki Bawah, SD Katolik Santo Yohanes Mapanget Barat, SD Katolik 02 Santo Don Bosco Paniki Bawah; and SD Katolik 10 Santo Fransiskus Buha. Samples those used are 84 students. This research is a quantitative approach. It used the survey’s method. It have stages: observation of the location of the research, preparation of questionnaires, distribution of questionnaires, validity testing, data collection, processing of research results, analysis of the results of research, and discussion. The result showed that the effect of smartphone on the learning motivation of students in elementary school Mapanget Subdistrict was 0.057 or 5.7% with a significance 0.028 < 0,05. The results of testing t-table is greater than t count, namely t-hitung = 2.232 ≥ (t-tab) = 1.989. This means that smartphone have an effect on students’ learning motivation even though it is in the low category 5.7%. Suggestion as recommendation: students do not use excessive smartphones both at school and at home. Parents and teachers always supervise children especially using of smartphone everday because the effect of smartphone on students’ learning motivation is very low.
The purpose of this study is to describe the learning process of Civic Education in schools and identify the values of local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi that can be used as a source in Civic Education learning at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels. This research focuses on identifying the values of local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi and analyzing the level of need for developing a Civic Education model based on the local culture of the people of North Sulawesi. This study uses a qualitative approach. Sources of data from this study were teachers at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels in North Sulawesi. St. Catholic Elementary School Clara Tomohon, St. Don Bosco Catholic 2 Elementary School Paniki Bawah, SD Negeri 2 Tataaran, SMP Negeri 4 Tomohon, SMP Negeri 6 Manado, SMP Negeri 1 Tondano, SMK Negeri 1 Tomohon, SMA Negeri 1 Manado, and SMA Negeri 3 Tondano. Sources of data in this study were teachers who were in schools that were used as research locations. Collecting data through a google form, interview, observation, and literature study. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman technique, namely data collection, data reduction, conclusion, and drawing/verification. In testing the validity of the data, the researcher will use internal validity (credibility) on the aspect of truth value in its application in terms of external validity (transferability) and reliability (dependability) on the consistency aspect and objectivity ( confirmability ) on the naturalist aspect. This study found that the teacher prepared the Civics learning process from the planning, implementing, and evaluating. There is an urgent need to develop Civics learning models based on the local wisdom of the people of North Sulawesi.
: The purpose of this research is to increase student activity and learning outcomes in science learning in fifth grade. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two learning meetings. The subject of this research is the fifth grader at the state elementary school of kawangkoan. Data collection techniques use tests, observations and documentation. The results showed that: (1) student learning activity in first cycle is 72,50% with active criterion and on second cycle is 76,15% with active criterion; (2) mastery of student learning outcomes in first cycle is 71,43% and second cycle is 100%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that by the method of demonstration can improve the quality of learning science subjects, that is: student activity and student learning outcomes of fifth grade state elementary school Kawangkoan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas lima SD Negeri Kawangkoan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) aktivitas belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 72,50% dengan kriteria aktif dan pada siklus II sebesar 76,15% dengan kriteria aktif; (2) ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I sebesar 71,43% dan siklus kedua 100%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan metode demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran mata pelajaran sains, yaitu: aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar siswa kelas lima SD Negeri Kawangkoan.Kata Kunci: metode demonstrasi, IPA, aktivitas belajar, hasil belajar.
