The popularity of cloud computing technology is increasing tremendously. There is no disagreement about the effectiveness of the data storage and the data transition techniques of clouds. Earlier it used distributed computing just for sharing resources. However, with technology advancement, cloud computing has become more and more powerful as well as more adaptive in various business sectors. However, with the increase in number of users, there is also an increase in the security threats affecting the users' privacy, personal data, identity and confidentiality. In this paper, we have aimed at categorizing security and privacy threats based on the kind of usage of cloud. We have also presented an algorithm to find the appropriate solution to address the security and privacy related issues as per the usage category. The case study method is adopted to analyze the pertinence of the algorithm through relevant real time cases. This paper helps in improving security and privacy of cloud technology users without compromising the benefits of data storage.
E-learning web applications are a boon for the learners which provide the abundant knowledge at their doorsteps. This has wrecked the barriers between the mentor and the learner to make the educational system more interactive and effective. These portals not only focus on content delivery, but also concentrate towards the demonstration and continuous evaluation. Even though the effective delivery is an important quotient of any teaching learning process, the level of understanding among the learners are to be analyzed and evaluated concurrently. The alignment of e-learning portals with the understanding facets is the essential and challenging task. This paper focuses towards the analysis of web portal alignment with the understanding facets and the ways and means to analyze the alignment. The first part of this paper focuses on the advent of elearning and the facets of understanding. The second part describes various parameters to analyze the alignment of elearning web applications with the measurement procedure. The final part of this paper depicts the actual analysis and the results found.
Cloud computing is based on years of research on various computing paradigms. It provides elasticity, which is useful in the situations of uneven ICT resources demands. As the world is moving towards digitalization, the education sector is expected to meet the pace. Acquiring and maintaining the ICT resources also necessitates a huge amount of cost. Education sector as a community can use cloud services on various levels. Though the cloud is very successfully running technology, it also shows some flaws in the area of security, privacy and trust. The research demonstrates a model in which major security areas are covered like authorization, authentication, identity management, access control, privacy, data encryption, and network security. The total idea revolves around the community cloud as university at the center and other associated colleges accessing the resources. This study uses OpenStack environment to create a complete cloud environment. The validation of the model is performed using some cases and some tools.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
