. Three hundred forty-six publication decisions were made on manuscripts received in late 2005 and in 2006. The information for these 346 manuscripts was analyzed for trends in peak periods, authors' geographic locations, and publication decisions. During 2006, 261 new manuscripts were received. One hundred eighty-five manuscripts were sent out for external review; 76 manuscripts were returned to the authors after the editors found that they did not satisfy stated journal criteria.A quarterly analysis illustrates that publication decisions for manuscripts that were submitted in 2006, and that received decisions in 2006 (N ¼ 250), were spread out fairly equally over the year except for a lower period between October and December ( Fig. 1; see next page).
International RepresentationIn 2006, 37.6% of the JRST manuscripts that were received and given publication decisions were from countries outside the United States. Turkey represented the largest (22.3%) group of these submissions, followed by Australia (10.6%) and Canada (8.5%). Of the 94 international manuscripts, 27 different countries were represented including Australia,
