Introduction: In the human life cycle there is growth and development either physically and mentally. In the elderly phase there are both physical and mental changes due to the degenerative process, leading to limitation in having physical activities, remembering things and speaking. This limitation affects social interaction with others which tends to decline and become passive. Decreasing social interaction of the elderly can cause the feeling of isolation, being useless and lead them to seclusion, because there is no emotional channeling through socializing. The purpose of this study was to identify the association between mental status and Social Interaction Capacity among the elderly at Sukodadi Community Health Center, Lamongan District. Methods: This quantitative study used correlational study and cross sectional design. Data were obtained from Short Portable Mental Status Questionnaire and social interaction capacity questionnaire. Samples consisted of 47 respondents, taken with consecutive sampling technique. Data analysis used Spearman test. Results: The majority of respondents (44,7%) had medium intellectual damage and the majority (51,1%) had medium social interaction capacity. The result of Spearman rho test showed p=0,024 and r=0,328 which meant that there was association between mental status and social interaction capacity at medium strength and positive correlation direction. Conclusion: There was association between mental status and social interaction capacity of the elderly at Sukodadi Community Health Center, Lamongan District.
Concrete road works on the improvement of the Jepara - Kedungmalang - Pecangaan road are the activities of the Publick Works Department of Highways in Central Java Province. Quality control in a building structure work is very important to support the strength of the structure. In planning the road structure, it is necessary to have density of soil and foundation layers that meet the requirements. To get the value of the degree of density that is from the sandcone test where in the sandcone test there are several standart methods or references for example from AASHTO T 191 and ASTM D 1556 - 64. In this study the aims is to obtain the value of the degree of density, how big is the difference between the AASHTO T 191 standart and ASTM D 1556 - 64, and know the water content. From the test result, the optimum moisture content value is 6.5%, dry density is 2.17gr/cm3, the value of the degree of density mostly ranges from ">100%, and the minimum water content value is 5.00% maximum water content is 6.7%.
Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus causes neuropathy and abnormalities in blood vessels that cause changes in the skin and muscles, making it easier for gangrene to occur. Gangrene wounds that are left untreated or treated inappropriately can spread and increase the risk of amputation and death. Proper gangrene wound care is needed to speed up the healing process and prevent the wound from getting worse. Diabetes mellitus patients with wound gangrene need the help of other people (family) to carry out independent care at home. So that, the ability of the family to carry out proper care is needed. Methods: The design in this study used an analytical pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The sampling of this study was total sampling used the Paired Sample T-Test. The population in this study was family who caring for family members with gangrene wounds at the Turi Community Health Center which met the inclusion criteria namely 25 respondents. Results: The results of this study showed that T = -3.361 means that there is an influence between the level of family ability in gangrene wound care before and after being given Health Education about Gangrene Wound Treatment. Conclusions: Health Education has a significant effect on the Family's Ability Level in gangrene wound care.
Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that requires self-care to improve the quality of life and reduce the occurrence of complications. Self-care behaviors that can be applied by DM patients include physical activity, diet regulation, control of blood glucose levels, treatment, and prevention of complications. The purpose of this literature review is to describe self-care behavior in Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients. Methods: Literature Review using the PICOT framework from several databases (Scopus, Science Direct, Google Scholar, Research Gate and Pubmed). The search results are displayed in the PRISMA. Abstracts and full articles were assessed for eligibility (n = 34), The articles correspond to research feasibility in quantitative studies (n = 12). Results: After collecting data, all data were selected according to the inclusion. Based on a review article, the self-care regimen for type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients generally includes physical activity, diet, controlling blood glucose levels, monitoring blood glucose and medication. However, most of the respondents compliance with self-care management behavior in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients has not been carried out optimally. Conclusions: The role of nurses is important in increasing adherence to self-care behavior in Diabetes Mellitus patients.
