4.0 industrial revolution gives opportunity for education through learning technology. Mobile learning is the use of technology in the learning process using tablets, PCs or smartphones. Technological development in education is the use of Android which is a medium for mobile learning that is more flexible. Online based mobile learning provides opportunities for students to study anytime and anywhere. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of electronic guide books and electronic-based assessment in a basic physics practicum with reflectance material on a flat mirror. The study involved 65 physics education students with 35 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. This research is true experimental research with the post-test end-experimental control group design. Based on the evaluation, in very good category at the communication’s indicator and classification’s indicator for experimental class, and in very good category at the compiles the data table’s indicator, for control class.
This study aims to determine the views of students majoring in mathematics education and natural science faculty of teacher training and education science at Universitas Jambi to use electronic's module in physics practicum which is based on science process skills. The study involved 117 students majoring in mathematics education and science which consists of 59 students of physical education and 58 students of mathematics education. This research is descriptive quantitative research in order to obtain information mean (M), median (Me), mode (Mo), percentage, the range of the maximum value and the minimum value. Data was collected by using questionnaires and interviews. Based on the research results from students' perceptions of physical education in good category at 64.4% while the student's perception of mathematics education in good category amounting to 55.2%.
This research aimed to determine the differences of mathematical communication skills based on cognitive styles and gender. This research was a mixed-method with sequential explanatory design. The population was grade XI students at Senior High School in Jambi City consisting of 53 male and 72 female students. The study used a total sampling. The key informant consisted of four field independent and four field dependent. The instruments were used cognitive style test, mathematical communication test, and interviews. The differences of mathematical communication skills were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U-Test. Qualitative data were analyze descriptively using Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study showed that there was a significant difference of Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) students in mathematical communication skills. FI can explain the information on the question well, using the mathematical model appropriately, explaining the problem-solving strategy very clear and structured, and being able to evaluate clearly and accurately. FD able to describing the information on the matter, but less complete, using the mathematical model appropriately, explaining the problem-solving strategy, but less complete, and being able to evaluate it quite clearly. The mathematical communication skills of male and female students were not significant differences. Male students are able to explain the strategy and the steps of solving the problem quite clearly, but less structured. Female students are able to explain the strategy and steps to resolve the problem clearly and structured.
Studi ini membahas konsep dasar komunikasi interpersonal di pesantren yang relevan dengan gaya kepemimpinan transformasional serta menganalisis kelebihan dan kelemahan komunikasi interpersonal dalam mengatasi konflik organisasi di pesantren sehingga mampu meningkatkan efektivitas organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi survei. Penelitian dilakukan pada Pesantren Al-Mujaddid Kota Sabang Aceh. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara mendalam. Validitas data diukur dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) kualifikasi pimpinan pesantren mencangkup figurehead, leader role dan liaison role memungkinkan dibentuknya sistem komunikasi yang efektif; (2) Gaya kepemimpinan yang dipraktikan adalah kepemimpinan transformasional sangat relevan dengan praktek komunikasi interpersonal; (3) Komunikasi interpersonal menjadi asas fundamental dalam resolusi konflik organisasi dan mampu meningkatkan peran kehumasan lembaga; (4) kepemimpinan dan komunikasi secara integrative mampu meningkatkan efektivitas pendidikan di pesantren. Pada dasarnya pilar-pilar pesantren sebagai organisasi efektif bertujuan dalam memberikan wawasan pengetahuan yang utuh tentang kedudukan, tugas, peran dan fungsi pesantren sebagai agen pembaharuan, pelayanan, peningkatkan mutu manusia sebagai bagian integral dari masyarakat secara keseluruhan Kata kunci: komunikasi interpersonal, kepemimpinan transformasional, efektivitas pesantren
The cognitive style has an important role in determining the characteristics of students on the conceptualizat ion. One o f the two types of cognitive styles are field independent (FI) and field dependent (FD). The purpose of this study was to identify the fo rm of conceptual misconceptions about limit and their causes. This type of research is a case study. The data was obtained through interviews based on the conceptual problem-solving tasks. Correspondents used in this study were fro m first-year college students (95 people) who were studied at Universitas Jambi. The results showed that (1) FI forms of students' misconceptions, namely: misconceptions about interpreting the concept of function limit and function conditions which have limits, such as: left limit and right limit. This problem occurred due to incomp lete reasoning and wrong intuition. The other result of this research was to obtain (2) FD forms of students' misconception, namely, (a) misconceptions about prerequisite material: drawing graphs of functions, misconceptions about determining the domain of a function, misconceptions about definit ions and forms of function notations, misconceptions about determining function values on function graphs (b) misconceptions about the concept of limits: misconceptions about interpreting the concept of limits in a function, the function requirements (left limit, right limit) and misconceptions about understanding the meaning which is close to the limit function (limit-x) approaching infinity.
