RESUMO O setor da construção civil é responsável por consumir grande parte dos recursos naturais existentes. Neste contexto, a necessidade de estudos relativos à viabilização do uso de materiais alternativos na produção de adições de compósitos cimentícios tornam-se relevantes. A crescente e intensa taxa de geração de resíduos de elementos e processos ligados à construção civil aos longos dos anos justifica esta pesquisa. O uso destes finos em adição e/ou substituição ao cimento no preparo de argamassas e concretos, tem sido considerado uma alternativa viável, no que diz respeito aos benefícios ambientais, econômicos, ganho de propriedades mecânicas e aumento de durabilidade. Portanto, este estudo busca a valorização dos resíduos da indústria cerâmica, através da produção de argamassas com substituições parciais de 10 e 20% do cimento por Resíduo de Polidora (RP) e Resíduo de Polidora e Retífica (RPR) para dois tipos de cimento, CP II F 32 e CPV ARI, respectivamente. O efeito da substituição para cada tipo de cimento pelo RP e RPR, a influência do tipo de resíduo e a porcentagem de substituição foram analisadas para as propriedades frescas e endurecidas das argamassas. As argamassas produzidas com RP e RPR apresentaram menor fluidez, necessitando da utilização de aditivo quando comparada com as preparadas somente com cimento. A resistência à compressão das argamassas, respectivamente, obtidas com resíduos de RP e RPR, apresentaram comportamento superior e/ou igual a argamassa de referência. Os resultados superiores obtidos nas propriedades mecânicas das argamassas produzidas com RP e RPR estão relacionados natureza pozolânica do resíduo, a interface da pasta e areia na mistura.
