Los tumores cardiacos son raros con una incidencia que varía de 0.002% a 0.02%. La mayoría de ellos son benignos, con múltiples formas de presentación. La presencia de un tumor intracardiaco puede ser asintomático o sintomático, esto varía de acuerdo a las características del mismo. Los tumores intracardiacos son raros, más aún si son de origen primario. Si son primarios es más común que sean benignos y los más comunes entre estos son los mixomas. La ecocardiografía transtorácica (ETT) es la primera línea de diagnóstico de tumores intracardiacos al ser baratos, disponibles y portables. Los mixomas por ETT se observan como como masas móviles con ecogenicidad heterogénea y calcificaciones ocasionales. La resonancia magnética cardiaca nos brinda diversos patrones que pueden distinguir no invasivamente si la masa es un tumor o un trombo. Se presenta el caso de una mujer de 43 años, quien presentó múltiples episodios de lipotimia asociado a otros síntomas. En su evaluación inicial no tuvo un diagnóstico correcto; sin embargo, luego de una evaluación cardiológica y utilizando correctamente las herramientas de diagnóstico, se llegó a la determinación de que era un mixoma auricular.
