Este estudo tem como objetivo investigar os fatores relacionados ao pagamento de dividendos e de payout incremental das empresas brasileiras listadas na Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo (BM&FBovespa) no período de 2002 a 2013. A amostra final foi composta por uma diversidade de 287 empresas. Os dados foram organizados em painel desbalanceado e foram realizadas regressões logit com efeitos aleatórios. Quanto ao pagamento, ou não, de dividendos os resultados direcionam que empresas mais rentáveis, com maior oportunidade de crescimento, mais maduras, mais antigas e com maior proporção de caixa têm maior probabilidade de distribuir dividendos, e que empresas mais endividadas têm menor probabilidade de pagá-los. Das empresas que distribuíram dividendos, as que apresentam maior rentabilidade, maior proporção de caixa, cujo acionista majoritário possui maior percentual de ações ordinárias e as pertencentes a níveis diferenciados de governança corporativa têm maior probabilidade de distribuir payout incremental, e as empresas com maiores oportunidades de crescimento têm menor probabilidade de distribuir payout incremental. Nesse contexto, sugere-se o indicativo de pagamento de payout incremental com o objetivo de redução do conflito de agência, haja vista que três das variáveis significativas são direcionadas a este aspecto, concentração acionária de ações ordinárias, pertença a níveis diferenciados de governança corporativa e proporção de caixa.
Este estudo investigou a política de distribuição de dividendos das empresas listadas na Bolsa de Valores de São Paulo entre 2002 e 2013. Assim, procurou identificar se as empresas pagaram (ou não) dividendos; quando distribuíram, se faz por meio de dividendos e/ou Juros sobre Capital Próprio; e, os níveis de payout adotados. Os resultados mostram que a maioria adota o pagamento de 25% do lucro líquido ajustado como dividendos mínimos, possivelmente para garantir participação legal nos lucros das empresas aos administradores. Porém, quando distribuem dividendos, pagam acima deste mínimo, havendo Payout Incremental. Sobre a forma de distribuição, há preferência em adotar apenas os dividendos como forma de remuneração dos investidores ou tê-lo em sua composição. Também foi visto que as companhias evitam mudar a política de distribuição adotada, mantendo a forma de remuneração e o nível de payout.
Resumo Este artigo teve por objetivo realizar uma avaliação epistemológica dos métodos de pesquisa em finanças por meio de uma análise dos modelos de precificação de ativos à luz das correntes filosóficas do positivismo/pós-positivismo e do construtivismo. Explica-se, assim, a adequação desses modelos à sociedade, entendendo que os fenômenos em estudo não são repetitivos, mas passíveis de análise. São apresentadas evidências de que os modelos de precificação de ativos possuem características metodológicas que se enquadram tanto no positivismo como no pós-positivismo e no construtivismo, tendo em vista a possibilidade de falseamento das hipóteses e sua adequação às subjetividades dos investidores. Os resultados obtidos nesse levantamento teórico sugerem que as finanças clássicas e suas contribuições comportamentais posteriores destacam métodos positivistas sujeitos a falseamentos de hipóteses e, consequentemente, uma ciência em construção, demonstrando a complementaridade das visões epistemológicas apresentadas.
Os recursos humanos são os responsáveis por executar serviços ou produzir produtos para que as organizações possam se desenvolver por meio da negociação destes. Desta forma, o fator humano tem sido tema recorrente de discussões nos meios empresariais e acadêmicos. Buscando compreender os esforços realizados pelas empresas para a realização da divulgação de informações sobre recursos humanos, definiu-se o seguinte objetivo de pesquisa: analisar os fatores que influenciam o nível de divulgação voluntária de informações sobre recursos humanos das companhias listadas no Índice IBrX100 durante os anos de 2009 à 2013. Para a construção desta pesquisa, foram analisados os relatórios da administração, formando assim o nível de divulgação de informação sobre recursos humanos, posteriormente foram levantadas as características das empresas a serem estudadas e por meio do desenvolvimento de uma regressão com dados em painel, realizou-se a análise inferencial. Como resultado de pesquisa, concluiu-se que os fatores que influenciam sobre o processo da divulgação de informações voluntárias sobre recursos humanos foram o tamanho, pois na medida em que as companhias são maiores elas buscam realizarem mais evidenciações, o mesmo acontece com a sua rentabilidade, mostrando que empresas com maior rentabilidade exercem mais a figura da publicidade acerca dos recursos humanos, já com relação ao balanço social na medida em que as empresas expõe esta demonstração, ela auxilia de forma a legitimar a companhia, mostrando os diversos aspectos sociais, inclusive a preocupação com o corpo funcional das empresas.
