Ekler J, Nagyváradi K, Kiss-Geosits B, Csányi T. Moderate and vigorous physical activity in the 55+ teachers' daily routine. J. Hum. Sport Exerc. Vol. 8, No. Proc2, pp. S204-S210, 2013. The health of teachers aged over 50 is endangered by several risk factors related to the age and today's social conditions. We have researched the level of moderate and vigorous physical activity (MVPA), which is regarded as a health protective factor; and the relationship between physical activity and health status in the daily routine of senior teachers. Our sample consisted of 21 teachers, aged 52-65. The data, which shows their physical activity, was recorded, with the help of the Actigraph GT3X+ triaxial accelerometer and a log about their daily routine. The actual physical condition was assessed with the help of InBody720 body composition analyser and CardioVision 2000 oscillometric blood pressure monitor. For comparing the parameters of the activity level and health condition the Paired Samples T Test was applied; for finding correlations we used correlation analysis. We found that the values of men's average energy usage and of MVPA are significantly higher than women's ones. The values of the number of steps per minute are significantly lower in the case of 10 kilos of excess body weight. 81% of the researched sample reached the weekly minimum (150 minutes) via their weekly activities, which is considered to be a protective MVPA factor. Those ones who did less MVPA activities than this are regarded to belong to the endangered health category, as a tendency. The senior teachers reach the MVPA -that is regarded as the protective factor of health status -via activities, which are related to daily transport, housekeeping, education and sporting. With the minor exception of P.E. teachers, lifestyle changes are mostly suggested to those ones who have 10 kilos of excess body weight.
The aim of this study is to determine body composition (BC) factors that influence agility among adolescent soccer players (N=66), in U14, U16, U18 soccer teams of the Topola Sport Club. Agility tests (Dribbling test, Illinois test), Inbody 720 instrument measuring the BC, and Oxa Starter infrared timing gate instrument measuring speed the agility were used. Data are processed by the IBM SPSS Statistics 25 software. In addition to descriptive statistics, a correlation matrix analysis, linear regression and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were also applied (p<0.05). A moderate correlation between agility with a ball and without a ball (r=0.595) is determined as well as between agility and BC parameters: Skeletal Muscle Mass, Intracellular Water Mass, Protein Mass, Mineral Mass (r=-0.453, -0.454, -0.453, -0.417, respectively) while the correlation between agility and Height, Mass, Body Mass Index, Right Leg Lean Mass, Left Leg Lean Mass, Extracellular Water Mass is less than moderate (r=-0.318, -0.329, -0.276, -0.332, -0.330, -0.374, respectively). A slight correlation is determined between agility with a ball and BC variables. No correlation was determined between Agility and Body Fat Mass. The influence of BC on agility is lower than expected. Using the scientific based approach and measurements, a complex exercise plan can be made for players and in this way young soccer players can be trained by using tailor-made and post-specified coaching methods.
The aim of the present research was to improve the neglect behavior of pubertal children in an intervention program. Within the framework of the program, the main function of the spinal column and the strength and extensibility of the muscles responsible for posture were investigated. The participants included in the study are 7th grade children of the Neumann János Elementary School in Szombathely, Hungary, (nb=7); (ng=10). The Idiag M360 Spinal Mouse was used to investigate the physiological curvatures and main function of the spinal column before and after the program. The device was used to examine the children's spines in standing, bending forward and again in a standing position after the Matthiass test was performed. Pre-intervention (1) and post-intervention (2) data showed significant decreases in all assessed characteristics and similar increases in sacrum to hip ratio (Sac/Hip) (9.83±4.36 - 21.63±4.39); p<0.000. The greatest change was found in the Th11/12 dorsal vertebral body angles (4.50±2.05 - -0.30±0.25); p<0.000. As a result of the postural improvement program, the degree of pelvic tilt and, in parallel, the physiological curvature of lumbar lordosis was reduced to within the age-specific reference values.
Several research works in the related international literature on sociology and health sciences deal with the state of health in one selected population. In these researches, the chosen sample is often connected with special jobs, especially with healthcare professionals and their working conditions. These studies predominantly examine the self-rated subjective health status using questionnaires. There are others that assess the state of health based not only on self-rated subjective indicators, but also using objective data gained by measuring. Considering the international experiences, we chose a special population in our research -healthcare professionals working in an institute for chronically ill psychiatric patients. Our choice was influenced by the fact that we wanted to include their unique working conditions when exploring and assessing their health status. Moreover, our approach was to assess the objective state of health alongside the subjective factors, as our hypothesis was that the majority of the indicators presumably coincided. The data were collected with the help of three questionnaires and some indicators of the objective health statuses were measured. The findings were processed using the SPSS 17.0 mathematical-statistical software package. Following the descriptive statistics, we applied hierarchic cluster-analysis based on results of the WHOQOLD BREF26 life-quality questionnaire, the WHO WBI-5 Well Being Index, and on the body composition analysis. The results show the objective and subjective health status of population and the factors that influenced it; the working conditions, and the interpersonal contacts in the workplace. The conclusion was that in the examined population the subjective and objective health status doesn't coincide.
A Kerékpáros Klub 2020 nyarán készített felméréséből kiderül, hogy a felnőtt lakosság 56%-a fenntartható közlekedési módokat (közösségi közlekedés, kerékpár, gyaloglás) választ autó helyet Magyarországon (Tokár, 2020). Így a napi mozgásszükséglet egy részét fedezni tudják. Emellett a turizmus szektorban is megfigyelhető tendencia a kerékpáros turisták számának emelkedése. Írásunkban bemutatjuk a pedelecet (elektromos rásegítésű kerékpár), mint a szabadidő aktív eltöltésének egyik lehetséges alternatíváját. Részletesen elemezzük a kerékpár kiválasztásának fő szempontjait, valamint az elektromos rásegítésű kerékpáros túrák szervezésének legfontosabb tudnivalóit.
