A disposable bacterial C 0 2 sensor has been fabricated using semiconductor techniques by immobilizing autotrophic bacteria on the sensitive area of a miniature Clark-type oxygen electrode and covering them with another gas-permeable membrane consisting of a negative photoresist formed directly on the gel.The response time of the C 0 2 sensor was 2 to 3 minutes. A linear relationship for the NaHC03 concentration was obtained between 0.5 and 3.5 mM at 30°C and pH 5.5. The C02 sensor can be used up to 10 times.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
