El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la incidencia del marketing de contenidos en Facebook sobre el comportamiento del consumidor millennials de los supermercados de la ciudad de Machala y en el valor percibido por este segmento. El estudio aplicado es de enfoque mixto cualitativo-cuantitativo, basado en 3 métodos: revisión documental, observación mecánica y personal en Facebook de los supermercados Supermaxi, Mi comisariato, Tía y Akí; finalmente, la aplicación de encuestas con un muestreo no probabilístico de tipo bola de nieve a una muestra conformada por 384 personas de una población de 129.969 personas según el INEC del trimestre enero-marzo 2021 de la población económicamente activa (PEA) de la ciudad de Machala. Dentro de los resultados de la observación mecánica y personal se constató que tanto fans como seguidores de los supermercados interactúan compartiendo contenido informativo y de entretenimiento, en formato de imagen y video, en perfiles con una frecuencia alta de publicaciones. Sobre la encuesta se concluye que las marcas que lideran los indicadores en cuanto a marketing de contenidos, son las de preferencia del segmento millennials (Tía 35% y Mi comisariato 32%), y que los contenidos promocionales (50%) y publicitarios (58,88%) influyen considerablemente en la decisión de compra.
