Esta pesquisa objetivou apreender as representações sociais da depressão de adolescentes do ensino médio, em uma escola de João Pessoa-PB. Participaram do estudo 276 adolescentes, de ambos os sexos e faixa etária entre 14 e 17 anos. Os instrumentos usados na pesquisa foram: o Inventário da Depressão Infantil (CDI) e a técnica projetiva do desenho-história com tema. Os resultados indicaram que a depressão está associada a quatro aspectos: psicoafetivos, com as subcategorias depressão como sinônimo de tristeza e desilusão amorosa; psicossocial, com a subcategoria dificuldade de relacionamento social, e idéias mórbidas, com a subcategoria ideia de morte e/ou ideação suicida. Essas associações são resultado tanto das vivências dos adolescentes como das informações e representações vinculadas ao seu grupo de pertença, apontando a necessidade de práticas preventivas e educacionais nas instituições de ensino.

Participaram 553 crianças, de ambos os sexos na faixa etária entre sete e doze anos. Foram utilizados como instrumentos o CDI -Inventário da Depressão Infantil, empregado como screening na seleção da amostra, e a técnica projetiva Desenho-Estória com Tema, o qual foi analisada pelo modelo proposto por Coutinho. Os dados obtidos evidenciam que a depressão está ancorada principalmente a fatores psicossociais, que são expostos pelas crianças como falta de amigos, pessoa isolada e medo de ser rejeitado. Essas associações são resultados das vivências das crianças, como também das informações e representações vinculados ao seu grupo de pertença. Os resultados implicam na necessidade de práticas preventivas e educacionais nas instituições de ensino com a finalidade de contribuir para uma melhor qualidade de vida desses indivíduos.Palavras-chave: Depressão infantil. A total of 553 children, both genders, aged between 7 and 12 years, participated in the study. Esta pesquisa objetivou identificar os fatores psicossociais que interferem na etiologia da depressão e apreender as representações sociais (RS) da depressão no coletivo de adolescentes inseridos no contexto do ensino médio da rede pública e privada das cidades de Teresina/PI e Natal/RN. Participaram da pesquisa 505 sujeitos, dentre os quais 269 são de Teresina e 236 de Natal. Utilizou-se o Inventário de Depressão Infantil e a Técnica de Associação Livre de Palavras (TALP). A amostra da cidade de Teresina/PI apresentou um maior índice de sintomatologia comparada à cidade de Natal/RN. Relativo ao sexo houve diferenças estatísticas significativas: os sujeitos do sexo masculino apresentam traços depressivos mais relacionados a problemas de conduta e obediência, enquanto as garotas desenvolveriam traços mais subjetivos. A partir da análise dos dados obtidos no TALP, constatou-se que as RS dos sujeitos pesquisados, de modo geral, demonstram inadequação do sujeito depressivo nas inter-relações psicoafetivas e psicossociais.
Objetivo: Examinar a relação existente entre o gênero e o uso de álcool em adolescentes.Método: A amostra foi composta por 1.138 adolescentes, dos quais 58% eram do sexo feminino,com média de idade de 16 anos (DP = 1,45). Para a coleta dos dados foi utilizado um questionário autoaplicável, cujas análises foram feitas por meio de estatística descritiva e teste bivariado, a fim de verificar a existência de associações entre as variáveis. Resultado se discussão: 76% dos adolescentes afirmam ter ingerido bebida alcoólica pelo menos uma vez na vida, com idade de experimentação aos 14 anos em média. Foi verificada uma associação entre o uso do álcool e religião/religiosidade, trabalho remunerado e satisfação com avida. Na análise por gênero, observaram-se diferenças entre as variáveis uso de álcool na vida,idade de experimentação, frequência do beber no último mês, motivação para beber e idade de iniciação ao consumo. Os adolescentes identificaram como consequência do uso do álcool:comportamentos sexuais de risco, de violência e ações que não teriam tomado em abstinência.Considerações finais: Os resultados apontam para o estabelecimento de padrões de consumo de álcool maior para mulheres do que para homens em gerações futuras, o que pode estar associadoà emancipação social desse grupo populacional.
Resumo: O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi de adaptar e analisar se o YCI apresenta validade psicométrica para aplicação na cidade de Campina Grande -Paraíba. Para o estudo, contou-se com a participação de 480 adultos com idade média de 24,49 anos (DP = 7,296). Os dados foram coletados na cidade de Campina Grande através de um questionário online. Todos os itens apresentaram cargas fatoriais acima de 0,30. A escala apresentou KMO = 0,846 e x² = 6094,745 p<0,000 e o percentual de variância cumulativa foi 35,66%. A versão para o inventário foi composta pelos fatores: (I) Ordem excessiva/Individualidade (α = 0,79); (II) Busca de reconhecimento/Manipulação (α = 0,81); (III) Agressão/Hostilidade (α = 0,70); (IV) Rebelião (α = 0,70). Conclui-se que a versão adaptada apresenta parâmetros psicométricos adequados. Porém, salienta-se que ainda são necessários estudos posteriores com populações de diferentes regiões e com amostras clínicas e não clínicas.
