Wer bei der ins Ungemessene gewachsenen und geradezu verwirrenden Nomenclatur tier Dermatologen sich unterfdngt, einen neuen Namen fiir eine Hautkrankheit einzuffihren, der tr~igt eine besondere Verantwortung. Er muss erweisen kSnnen, dass die bisherigen Namen nicht zweckm~ssig sind, und dazu bedarf es einer besonderen Erfahrung aui dem Gebiet der betreffenden Erkrankung. Beiden Bedingungen --so hoffen wir --wird durch das, was wir in dem Folgenden niedergeschrieben haben, Geniige geleistet. Die Krankengeschichten entstammen dem letzten Jahrzehnt und beziehen sich auf Patienten, die sowohl in der PrivatPraxis des Dr. K. Herxheimer, als auch auf der dermatologischen Abtheilung des hieslgen st~dtischen Krankenhauses, als endlich in der hiesigen st~dtischen Poliklinik fiir Hautkranke zur Beobachtung kamen.Krankengeschichte.Fall L Priv. Pat. u 41 J., verb., Schuhwaarenhiindler in einem Dorfe bei Worms. Vater starb mit 71 Jahren, Mutter lebt, ist 71 Jahre alt und gesund. Die 3 Geschwister des Patienten sind gesund, ebenso seine Kinder. Eltern und Gesehwister batten keine Hautkrankheiten. Patient selbst will keine Kinderkrankheiten gehabt haben. Mit 11 Jahren stellte sich eine ,Nervengeschwulst" (nach der Beschreibung ein Neurofibrom) am reehten Oberschenkel an dessen Aussenseite ein, die mit 91 Jahren in einer chirurgisehen Universit~its-klinik excidirt wurde. An der Exeisionsstelle befindet sich ietzt eine 30 Cm. lange, glatte, weisse Narbe, die keine Besonderheiten aafweist

(Hiezu Tafel XVII.)Wer mit der Gram'schen Methode Schnitte der menschlichen Haut behandelt, der finder zuweilen, dass die Zellmembranen in der basalen Epidermisschicht den Anilinfarbstoff zurtickgehalten haben. Aueh mir, der ich viel mit der Gram'schen Me'bode gearbeitet habe, war dieser Umstand schon vor l~mgerer Zeit auf-.gefallen, ohne dass ich mir eine plausib]e Erkl~rung dartiber geben konn~e. Die Gram'sche Me~hode ist nun in neuester Zeit durch die yon Weigert gefundeue Methode zur Farbung yon Fibrin und yon Mikroorganismen (Fortschr. der Medicin, 1887, Nr. 8) mannigfacher Vortheile halber substituirt worden. Mit dieser letzteren wurde die obige Reaction noch deutlicher, und man finder in der That sehr haufig die Zellmembranen in der basalen Cylinderzellen-, sowie in der ganzen Stache]zellenschich~ nicht blos diffus, sondern geradezu electiv gefarbt. Ztlngchst ha~ dies ftir den Mikroskopiker niehts Befremdendes, dem die Erfahrung zur Seite steht, duss auch andere Epithelien, z. B. diejenigen drtisiger Organe oder solche yon Carcinomen of~ eine ahnliche Reaction mi~ verschiedenen Anilinfarbstoffen geben. Indessen zeigten sieh durch die vor nunmehr anderthalb Jahren begonnene Untersuchung eigenthtimliche spiralige Fasern, die ich im Folgenden naher beschreiben will. Archiv f. De~,ms3;oI. u.
