Résumé La fouille du site de Noyelles-lez-Seclin (Nord), au lieu-dit « La Pointe », a fournit d’intéressantes données sur l’architecture de terre et de bois à l’époque gallo-romaine, en démontrant l’existence de structures d’habitats « excavés » aux ii e et iii e s. ap. J.-C. Plusieurs types de structures aménagées ont pu être différenciés : les structures de conservation ou de stockage, les structures d’habitat ou ateliers et les constructions à ossature de bois de type « fond de cabane ». Ce dernier type de structure, pour cette époque, semble spécifique des vallées de la Deûle et de l’Escaut. Quelques variantes apparaissent suivant les gisements, mais cette variété semble moins liée aux types de sites qu’à l’activité qui y est pratiquée.
