El objetivo de la investigación fue identificar los principales periodos y tipologías de las dinámicas de interacción en espacios públicos de principales urbanizaciones de Nuevo Chimbote, determinando y analizando su metamorfosis de 1975 – 2019. Para este propósito se utilizó la metodología descriptiva no experimental, aplicando tres técnicas de investigación: El interaccionismo simbólico, la investigación no intrusiva y la observación flotante. El ámbito de estudio contempló: 26 plazas, 11 parques y 6 alamedas; 73 personas entrevistadas y 288 encuestadas, divididas por rango de edad. Se determinó que la metamorfosis de los espacios públicos pasó por 4 periodos, desarrollando 7 tipos de organización (tipo 3, 37%) y 7 tipologías según su forma (tipo 4, 26%). En cuanto a las dinámicas de interacción se determinó 6 tipos, reflejados en 3 periodos, siendo el 3ero la mutación de las dos primeras. El 3er periodo de los espacios públicos generó el más grande aporte, con 5 tipologías nuevas, sin embargo, al no ser implementados en su totalidad el deterioro de la infraestructura logra perder la riqueza de estos espacios. Las dinámicas de interacción mutaron de 4 a 6 tipos, a pesar que los espacios públicos no responden a ello y los problemas que generaron el deterioro de estos espacios públicos también tuvieron un proceso de cambio, debido a sus causas directas y la gestión.
