Während sich die cis‐ und trans‐1‐(p‐Chlorphenyl)‐2‐methyläthylenoxide aus den cis‐ und trans‐p‐Chlorphenylpropenen über die threo‐ und erythro‐Dibromide und threo‐ und erythro‐Acetobromhydrine gut herstellen lassen, ist auf diesem Wege von den entsprechenden p‐Nitro‐Derivaten wegen der Unbeständigkeit des cis‐p‐Nitrophenylpropens nur das trans‐1‐(p‐Nitrophenyl)‐2‐methyläthylenoxid zugänglich. Aber vom 1(S),2(S)‐(+)‐threo und 1(R),2(S)‐(+)‐erythro‐1‐(p‐Nitrophenyl)‐2‐amino propandiol‐1,3 ausgehend erhält man durch Permethylierung und thermische Zersetzung der entsprechenden quartären Ammoniumhydroxyde 1(S),2(R)‐(+)‐cis‐1‐(p‐Nitrophenyl)‐1,2‐epoxi‐3‐hydroxy‐propan bzw. 1(R),2(R)‐(—)‐trans‐1‐(p‐Nitrophenyl)‐1,2‐epoxi‐3‐hydroxypropan. Die neutrale Reaktion der als Zwischenstufe faßbaren quartären Ammoniumhydroxyde in wäßriger Lösung ist mit der Bildung eines inneren Salzes zu erklären. Durch Tritylierung des C‐3‐Sauerstoffatoms wird die 1,2‐Stellung des Epoxidringes bewiesen. Eine Erörterung über den Einfluß des Tritylrestes auf die optische Drehung schließt sich an.
Zusammenfassung. Mit zwei Experimenten wurde untersucht, ob in natürlicheren Texten beschriebene Veränderungen von räumlichen Gegebenheiten während des Lesens in ein Situationsmodell integriert werden und wie sich räumliche Veränderungen auf die Verfügbarkeit von Textinhalten auswirken. In beiden Experimenten lernten die Probanden zunächst den Grundriß eines Gebäudes mit den Raumnamen sowie den in den Räumen enthaltenen Objekten kennen. Innerhalb einer längeren Rahmenhandlung wurde sodann beschrieben, wie das Gebäude zweimal umgebaut wird, indem Wände ein- und ausgebaut werden. Nach jedem Umbau lasen die Probanden mehrere Episoden, die in dem Gebäude spielten. Dabei wurden sowohl die Repräsentation der Umbauten als auch die Verfügbarkeit der gelernten Objekte durch die Lesezeiten kritischer Sätze getestet. Beide Experimente zeigten, daß Leser die Veränderungen der räumlichen Gegebenheiten in ihrem Situationsmodell repräsentieren und diese Veränderungen bei der Repräsentation von Bewegungen der Hauptpersonen beachten. Ein konsistenter Distanzeffekt, d. h. eine Abhängigkeit der Objektverfügbarkeit von der räumlichen Distanz zwischen Objekt und Protagonist, wurde hingegen nicht gefunden.
