W nawiązaniu do poruszanej w badaniach tematyki, za problem badawczy przyjęto rolę i znaczenie sektora usług w gospodarkach państw Unii Europejskiej w XXI w. Polska zaklasyfikowana została do państw o średnim potencjale z wyjątkiem wskaźnika określającego wartość produkcji – poziom niski.
The research problem was the connection about the problematics of competitiveness factors with the planned action of innovation within the managing of the enterprise. In such research area the purpose of the study was to identify and evaluate the competitiveness factors used in innovative companies while taking into consideration companies’ ownership of long-term plan of action connected with managing the innovations. To achieve this objective, the following research methods were used: analysis of national and foreign literature resources, survey measurement (observation technique), direct and indirect interview, research tool: questionnaire. The results were analysed with statistical methods such as arithmetic mean, test of Kruskal-Wallis, Chi-square test (χ2), and measure of association including Cramér’s V coefficient were applied. Based on research results and mentioned statistical tools, it was stated that having of long-term plan of action connected with innovations statistical significant affected on the evaluated competitiveness factors (innovativeness, quality, marketing and logistics activities) except the price. It was confirmed in such wat the first research hypothesis. The research also showed a relationship between competing using innovativeness and having an action plan related to innovations, however, this relationship was not statistically significant. As a result, the research hypothesis can be neither rejected nor confirmed. In practical terms, the conducted research points out the competitiveness factors which are suggested to use by the innovative enterprises in order to improve their competitiveness against competitiveness and in surroundings of knowledge based economy, as well the digital economy. Results of the research indicate at the same time, the necessity of development of long-term plan of action connected with innovations, which provides bigger possibilities in range of usage of competitiveness instruments on the market by enterprises.
SME-sector enterprises seeking to be more competitive in the domestic and foreign markets should build their competitive advantage on the basis of innovativeness. Analysis and assessment of innovative potential translates into activity (or its absence) in the field of innovation. This is important for determination of business innovativeness and represents a component of business competitiveness. This paper studied the innovativeness of SME-sector enterprises in the region of Warmia and Mazury. The results showed that as many as 62.3% of the surveyed SME-sector enterprises were innovative and that they implemented product innovations the most frequently (31.7% of all innovations). Nevertheless, the majority of innovations were local in nature and the opinions expressed by customers proved to be the most important external source of innovations, while the enterprise owner was the main source of internal innovations.
Three research methods were used: overview and critique of literature in the field of described subject, monographic method (using an analysis of secondary data) and statistical method using descriptive statistics (arithmetic average, standard deviation). Productivity research concerned sectors of EU countries during 2008-2016 in terms of indicators. Countries were classified using factors such as scale of production, labour productivity and fixed asset productivity. In the mentioned period the dynamic and the level of these factors were determined. Findings: The results allowed the positive verification of the proposed research hypothesis. Service sectors of countries with lower economic and social growth (production potential) were characterized by a higher level of productivity of fixed assets. Such countries included:
The paper contains theoretical considerations on cryptocurrencies in the context of innovation and specifically focuses on the most popular cryptocurrency – bitcoin (BTC). Based on critical analysis of domestic and foreign writings, bitcoin was classified as a modular innovation despite some of its features suggesting the continuous and breakthrough nature of the solution. The conclusion helped positively validate the research hypothesis proposed in this paper according to which cryptocurrencies, despite their characteristics of an incremental and breakthrough innovation, can be treated as modular innovations.
Najbardziej popularne wśród mikropodmiotów były innowacje produktowe i procesowe. Udział innowacji nietechnologicznych był 2-3-krotnie mniejszy niż technologicznych. Zakres terytorialny działalności mikroprzedsiębiorstw, najczęściej regionalny, powodował wprowadzanie innowacyjnych zmian, będących głównie nowościami w skali przedsiębiorstwa. Najważniejszym źródłem pomysłów innowacyjnych były opinie wyrażane przez klientów.
The subject of innovativeness is an interesting and unusually up-to-date research area in Poland and other countries. It is especially interesting to consider the situation in the service sector, whose specific character is largely related to the non-technological scope of innovativeness. With regards to such an outline of the research, the objective of this paper is to evaluate the level of the innovativeness of the service sector in EU countries. The research material in the paper was the Eurostat prepared database regarding the following: the level and type of innovative activity, as well as the degree of innovation in the EU services sector. In order to obtain the research goal, the method of analysis and criticism of literature, comparative analysis was used and the arithmetic mean was used to determine the levels of innovation. Based on the conducted research the top innovative level service sector countries include: France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. The medium level countries include: Germany, Sweden, Portugal and Poland. The service sectors of other countries were classified as low level innovativeness. The research, did not identify the influence of the service sector innovativeness on the innovativeness level of particular countries
