RESUMOObjetivou-se com este trabalho verificar os componentes de produção e a produção de aquênios do girassol (Helianthus annuus L., variedade Embrapa 122/V-2000), sob irrigação com diferentes níveis de salinidade de água em ambiente protegido. Os tratamentos foram compostos de seis níveis de salinidade da água de irrigação (CEa): N1 -0,5; N2 -1,0; N3 -2,0; N4 -3,0; N5 -4,0 e N6 -5,0 dS m -1 a 25 o C, em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com 5 repetições. Avaliaram-se: o diâmetro interno do capítulo, número de aquênios, massa de 100 aquênios, massa total de aquênios, fitomassa seca da parte aérea e da raiz, relação fitomassa seca da raiz e da parte aérea, consumo de água, condutividade elétrica da água drenada e do extrato de saturação do solo. A massa total de aquênios e o número de aquênios decresceram de 11,39 e 9,64%, respectivamente, por aumento unitário da condutividade elétrica da água de irrigação; a fitomassa seca da raiz foi mais afetada pela salinidade da água de irrigação que a fitomassa seca da parte aérea, os níveis de salinidade da água de drenagem no final do experimento foi cerca de 2,2 vezes da condutividade elétrica do extrato de saturação. The treatments consisted of six levels of salinity of irrigation water (ECw), N1 -0.5, N2 -1.0; N3 -2.0; N4 -3.0; N5 -4.0 and N6 -5.0 dS m -1 at 25 o C in a randomized design with five replications. The internal diameter of the chapter, number of seeds, weight of 100 seeds, the total mass of seeds, dry weight of shoot and root, ratio of dry weight of root and shoot, water consumption, electrical conductivity of drainage water and the saturation extract of soil. The total mass of seeds and number of seeds decreased 11.39 and 9.64%, respectively, with per unit increase in electrical conductivity of irrigation water, the root dry mass was more affected by salinity of irrigation water than dry mass of aerial parts, salinity levels of drainage water at the end of experiment were about 2.2 times of electrical conductivity of saturation extract.

A utilização de águas salinas na irrigação para produção vegetal é um desafio que vem sendo superado com sucesso em diversas partes do mundo. Na região semiárida, o cultivo de girassol tem se destacado por se constituir uma fonte de energia renovável. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo verificar o crescimento e desenvolvimento de 4 variedades de girassóis irrigada com diferentes níveis de salinidade da água de irrigação em ambiente protegido. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi em blocos ao acaso, em esquema fatorial (3x4), compostos de três níveis de salinidade da água de irrigação: N 1 -0,6; N 2 -3,0 e N 3 -5,4 dS m -1 à 25 ºC e quatro variedades de girassol: C 1 -Helio 863, C 2 -Embrapa 122/V-2000, C 3 -Catissol 01 e C 4 -Multissol, com 3 repetições. O arranjo das unidades experimentais foi triangular em fileira dupla, espaçadas em 0,60 m entre fileira simples, 1,00 m entre plantas de cada fileira e 1,00 m entre fileira dupla. As variáveis de crescimento altura de planta, diâmetro do caule e número de folhas foram reduzidos com o incremento da salinidade da água de irrigação, sendo os efeitos mais drásticos ocorrido na altura das plantas. Não houve diferença entre as cultivares no que se refere aos parâmetros de tolerância à salinidade. Palavras

ResumoNos últimos anos, devido ao aumento de produção de espécies ornamentais no Brasil e no mundo, o girassol também ganhou destaque como planta ornamental. Este trabalho teve como objetivo verificar os efeitos da salinidade da água de irrigação no crescimento e na produção de flores do girassol (Helianthus annuus L., cv. Embrapa 122-V2000) através das variáveis diâmetro externo do capítulo, início do florescimento, duração de pós colheita, número de pétalas no capítulo para fins ornamentais. Os tratamentos foram compostos de seis níveis de salinidade da água de irrigação (CEa ) de 0,5; 1,0; 2,0; 3,0; 4,0 e 5,0 dS m-1 à 25 oC, em delineamento inteiramente casualisado com 10 repetições por tratamentos. O número de pétalas no capítulo diminuiu significativamente com o aumento da salinidade da água de irrigação, sendo as plantas irrigadas com água de baixa (0,5 dS m-1) e alta salinidade (5 dS m-1) apresentando 27,8 e 17,5 pétalas, respectivamente. O diâmetro externo médio do capítulo para as plantas irrigadas com água de baixa e alta salinidade foram de 17,5 e 14,3 cm, respectivamente. O decréscimo de fitomassa seca da parte aérea das plantas de girassol foi de 12,8% por aumento unitário da salinidade da água, confirmando a tolerância do girassol à salinidade. RESUMOCom o intuito de escolher um material mais promissor para a produção de citros estudar o vigor inicial de plantas, através do crescimento em altura, diâmetro do porta enxerto e diâmetro do enxerto deve prevalecer, pois assim obteremos plantas com porta enxerto de genótipos que sofrem menores reduções no seu crescimento e que promovam um melhor crescimento da copa. Mediante o exposto foi realizado um estudo com objetivo de avaliar a produção de plantas cítricas provenientes de três genótipos de porta enxertos irrigados com água moderadamente salina. O experimento foi conduzido em condição de telado localizado na Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, PB, utilizando-se vasos plásticos com capacidade de 200 L, em um delineamento em blocos casualizados com 3 repetições analisados em esquema de parcela subdividida, onde se avaliou nas parcelas três tipos de porta enxertos -PE (PE1 -TSKC x TRENG -256; PE2 -LCRC e o PE3 -TSKC x [TR x LCR] -059) e nas subparcelas os dias após transplantio (90, 110, 130 e 150 DAT). As plantas foram irrigadas com água de condutividade elétrica de 1,2 dS m -1 em um turno de rega de 3 dias das quais avaliou as seguintes variáveis: altura de planta, diâmetro do porta enxerto, diâmetro do enxerto e o número de folhas. O porta enxerto PE1 (TSKC x TRENG -256) é o mais indicado para compor sistema de produção de planta de citros irrigados com água de condutividade elétrica de 1,2 dS m -1 . The unregulated use and increased demand in face of the demographic and economic growth of society caused reduction in the availability of water resources in quantity and quality. In this context, this work was carried out to verify the possibility of producing ornamental sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) fertirrigated with wastewater from fish culture and its mixtures with tap water. Two experiments were conducted in 2017 in a greenhouse at Federal Rural do University of the Semiarid, in Mossoró, RN, Brazil, according to a completely randomized design with 12 replicates. The treatments consisted of dilutions of the fish's wastewater in tap water (0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%). Determinations of plant biomass and flower characteristics were performed. The statistical analysis of the data consisted of analysis of variance by the F test and regression analysis. The biomass of ornamental sunflower showed significant effect of the fish’s effluent dilutions, but, in general, characteristics of flowers were not influenced. The higher values of the variables of the ornamental sunflower evaluated in the first experiment, which received fertilization, indicate that the effluent did not supply the nutritional needs of the plants. The irrigation of the ornamental sunflower can be carried out with effluent from fish farming when there is another source of nutrients for the crop to produce flowers with satisfactory characteristics.

The consolidation of a wide and effective management system of solid residues, especially biodegradable ones, is one of the great challenges of current society. Composting was evaluated as an option of organic fertilization for soil enrichment, using raw food residues in substitution to bovine manure. The compost piles were built with 30% of biodegradable residues mixed with 70% of ground tree pruning material. The effects of different proportions of food residues (FR) and bovine manure (BM) as source of carbon were tested in 5 treatments (T 1 = 15%BM + 15%FR, T 2 = 20%BM + 10%FR, T 3 = 10%BM + 20%FR, T 4 = 30%BM and T 5 = control, 30%FR), in randomized blocks, under open field conditions for 90 days. The pH, temperature and moisture content of the compost were measured weekly. The aged compost was evaluated for physicochemical and microbiological properties and carbon contents in the humic substances. The analyses of the results indicated that all studied composts reached the maturation stage with satisfactory contents of humic substances, macronutrients, and micronutrients, indicating that food residues can be used as a source of carbon in compost piles to produce organic fertilizers. The contents of the evaluated chemical contaminants were much lower than those established in the main legislation and current normative instructions and, in terms of contamination by pathogens, there was the absence of total coliforms, thermo tolerant coliforms, and Salmonellas.

The objective was to evaluate the water consumption of sunflower cultivars irrigated with saline waters. The experimental design utilized was in randomized blocks of a 2 x 4 factorial arrangement. This was composed of two levels of electrical conductivity (ECw) of irrigation water (N1 - 0.6 and N2 - 3.0 dS m-1 at 25 ºC) and four cultivars of sunflower (C1 - Helio 863, C2 - Embrapa 122-V2000, C3 - Catissol 01 and C4 - Multissol), with three replications, each of them with three plants totaling 72 experimental units. There was a reduction in water consumption of sunflower cultivars irrigated with saline water (N2 - 3.0 dS m-1). The irrigation with saline water resulted in a greater volume of drained water in all sunflower cultivars.

Sunflower is adapted to different soil and climate conditions, but its water and nitrogen requirements are not well defined. This study was carried out in Apodi, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, to evaluate the oil yield of sunflower in response to irrigation depth and nitrogen dose. A randomized block experimental design was used with a factorial scheme with four replications. The factors tested were irrigation depths corresponding to 58, 80, 100 and 120% of crop evapotranspiration (water-use efficiency variable), and nitrogen doses corresponding to 40, 100, 200 and 370% of the standard dose. Data were submitted to analysis of variance by the F-test, followed by the Tukey test of means and regression analysis. The increase in the water depth until 100% ETc and in the nitrogen dose until 260 kg ha-1 promoted increase in the values of all variables, but at higher nitrogen doses the variables decreased. The response surfaces showed stronger response to nitrogen dose for the water depths around 100% ETc and for the lower nitrogen doses, and greater water use efficiency for the production of oil for the water depths around 100% ETc, independently of nitrogen dose.
