RESUMO:A demanda por água vem aumentando no mundo a cada dia, devido, crescimento populacional e às atividades produtivas decorrentes, somado à degradação ambiental, que tem criado um cenário de escassez hídrica em diversas regiões do globo.O uso da água residual no sistema de irrigação por gotejadores é uma alternativa sustentável de reutilização deste resíduo, além de ser um fator de extrema relevância no referente à fertilização do solo. Neste trabalho, objetivou-se avaliar o desempenho hidráulico do sistema de irrigação, com a aplicação do efluente da castanha de caju, observando-se a eficiência deste dispositivo para com o coeficiente de uniformidade de Christiansen e de distribuição (CUC e CUD). O experimento foi realizado naUniversidade Federal Rural do Semi-Árido (UFERSA), onde foi montado em esquema de unidades. Os resultados obtidos apresentaram valores de CUC e CUD iguais a 93,76% e 90,93%, respectivamente, considerados excelentes. Já no referente à vazão, diagnosticou-se sua diminuição, advindo da formação de biofilmes no interior dos gotejadores e da presença de sólidos suspensos. Conclui-se que o sistema de irrigação avaliado apresenta ótima uniformidade de aplicação de água, com relação ao CUD e ao CUC.PALAVRAS-CHAVE: água residuária, escassez hídrica, desempenho hidráulico
