Traditional camera sensors rely on human eyes for observation. However, human eyes are prone to fatigue when observing objects of different sizes for a long time in complex scenes, and human cognition is limited, which often leads to judgment errors and greatly reduces efficiency. Object recognition technology is an important technology used to judge the object’s category on a camera sensor. In order to solve this problem, a small-size object detection algorithm for special scenarios was proposed in this paper. The advantage of this algorithm is that it not only has higher precision for small-size object detection but also can ensure that the detection accuracy for each size is not lower than that of the existing algorithm. There are three main innovations in this paper, as follows: (1) A new downsampling method which could better preserve the context feature information is proposed. (2) The feature fusion network is improved to effectively combine shallow information and deep information. (3) A new network structure is proposed to effectively improve the detection accuracy of the model. From the point of view of detection accuracy, it is better than YOLOX, YOLOR, YOLOv3, scaled YOLOv5, YOLOv7-Tiny, and YOLOv8. Three authoritative public datasets are used in these experiments: (a) In the Visdron dataset (small-size objects), the map, precision, and recall ratios of DC-YOLOv8 are 2.5%, 1.9%, and 2.1% higher than those of YOLOv8s, respectively. (b) On the Tinyperson dataset (minimal-size objects), the map, precision, and recall ratios of DC-YOLOv8 are 1%, 0.2%, and 1.2% higher than those of YOLOv8s, respectively. (c) On the PASCAL VOC2007 dataset (normal-size objects), the map, precision, and recall ratios of DC-YOLOv8 are 0.5%, 0.3%, and 0.4% higher than those of YOLOv8s, respectively.
In this paper, a rubber dam monitoring system is presented taking the rubber dam in Linyi, Shandong province as an example. SIEMENS PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and fuzzy control which are used in the data acquisition unit of the system is to control the water level and the sluice with kinds of detection methods. The data exchanges between PC (Principal Computer) and PLC is implemented by WINCC to realize remote control. A fuzzy controller to control water level is introduced, which increases the accuracy of water level control greatly with advanced fuzzy control algorithm.
Although complex Lü systems have been considered in many studies, application of the self-time-delay synchronization (STDS) of complex Lü systems in secure speech communications does not appear to have been covered in much of the literature. Therefore, it is meaningful to study the STDS of complex Lü systems and its application in secure speech communication. First, a complex Lü system with double time-delay is introduced and its chaotic characteristics are analyzed. Second, a synchronization controller is designed to achieve STDS. Third, the improved STDS controller is used to design a speech communication scheme based on a complex Lü system. Finally, the effectiveness of the controller and communication scheme are verified by simulation.
In this article, a novel robust tracking control scheme based on linear extended state observer with estimation error compensation is proposed for the tracking control of the antagonistic variable stiffness actuator based on equivalent nonlinear torsion spring and the serial variable stiffness actuator based on lever mechanism. For the dynamic models of these two classes of variable stiffness actuators, considering the parametric uncertainties, the unknown friction torques acting on the driving units, the unknown external disturbances acting on the output links and the input saturation constraints, an integral chain pseudo-linear system with input saturation constraints and matched lumped disturbances is established by coordinate transformation. Subsequently, the matched lumped disturbances in the pseudo-linear system are extended to the new system states, and we obtain an extended integral chain pseudo-linear system. Then, we design the linear extended state observer to estimate the unknown states of the extended pseudo-linear system. Considering the input saturation constraints in the extended pseudo-linear system and the estimation errors of the linear extended state observer with fixed preset observation gains, the adaptive input saturation compensation laws and the novel estimation error compensators are designed. Finally, a robust tracking controller based on linear extended state observer, sliding mode control, adaptive input saturation compensation laws, and estimating error compensators is designed to achieve simultaneous position and stiffness tracking control of these two classes of variable stiffness actuators. Under the action of the designed controller, the semi-global uniformly ultimately bounded stability of the closed-loop system is proved by the stability analysis of the candidate Lyapunov function. The simulation results show the effectiveness, robustness, and adaptability of the designed controller in the tracking control of these two classes of variable stiffness actuators. Furthermore, the simulation comparisons show the effectiveness of the proposed estimation error compensation measures in reducing the tracking errors and improving the disturbance rejection performance of the controller.
In recent years, highway accidents occur frequently, the main reason is that there is always foreign body invasion on the highway, which makes people unable to respond to emergencies in time. In order to reduce the occurrence of highway incidents, an object detection algorithm for highway intrusion was proposed in this paper. Firstly, a new feature extraction module was proposed to better preserve the main information. Secondly, a new feature fusion method was proposed to improve the accuracy of object detection. Finally, a lightweight method was proposed to reduce the computational complexity. We compare the algorithm in this paper with existing algorithms, the experimental results showed that: On the Visdrone dataset (small size targets), (a) the CS-YOLO was 3.6% more accurate than the YOLO v8. (b) The CS-YOLO was 1.2% more accurate than the YOLO v8 on the Tinypersons dataset (minimal size targets). (c) CS-YOLO was 1.4% more accurate than YOLO v8 on VOC2007 data set (normal size).
With the progress of science and technology, artificial intelligence is widely used in various disciplines and has produced amazing results. The research of the target detection algorithm has significantly improved the performance and role of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and plays an irreplaceable role in preventing forest fires, evacuating crowded people, surveying and rescuing explorers. At this stage, the target detection algorithm deployed in UAVs has been applied to production and life, but making the detection accuracy higher and better adaptability is still the motivation for researchers to continue to study. In aerial images, due to the high shooting height, small size, low resolution and few features, it is difficult to be detected by conventional target detection algorithms. In this paper, the UN-YOLOv5s algorithm can solve the difficult problem of small target detection excellently. The more accurate small target detection (MASD) mechanism is used to greatly improve the detection accuracy of small and medium targets, The multi-scale feature fusion (MCF) path is combined to fuse the semantic information and location information of the image to improve the expression ability of the novel model. The new convolution SimAM residual (CSR) module is introduced to make the network more stable and focused. On the VisDrone dataset, the mean average precision (mAP) of UAV necessity you only look once v5s(UN-YOLOv5s) is 8.4% higher than that of the original algorithm. Compared with the same version, YOLOv5l, the mAP is increased by 2.2%, and the Giga Floating-point Operations Per Second (GFLOPs) is reduced by 65.3%. Compared with the same series of YOLOv3, the mAP is increased by 1.8%, and GFLOPs is reduced by 75.8%. Compared with the same series of YOLOv8s, the detection accuracy of the mAP is improved by 1.1%.
