This study aimed to formulate a model for the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic management systems in Islamic higher education institutions to achieve the goals they have set in a competitive and dynamic environment. The researchers conducted this study at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Raden Intan Lampung for nine months, from January to September 2020. This study employed the qualitative paradigm of phenomenology. The strategy to realize excellence is known as the university strategies. The strategies consist of ten aspects: 1) increasing the quality of inputs, 2) increasing superior learning processes and outcomes based on the competency and expertise areas, 3) increasing research and research-based service by emphasizing the significance of the results, 4) improving the quality of human resources, 5) improving students’ achievement academically and non-academically, 6) increasing financial independence, environmentally sound assets, land, and infrastructure, 7) increasing accreditation rankings, 8) mainstreaming information technology as the backbone of credible, accountable, transparent, responsible and just governance, 9) improving cooperation, and 10) improving collaboration with other institutions and universities. This research can be a reference for universities' policy-makers in revising the universities' management.
Ulin is categorized as endangered species and included in semi tolerant species. Information of optimal light intensity (or light shading) is needed for ex-situ conservation program. The objective of this research was to investigate the effect of shading intensity and seed source on the survival and growth of ulin. This research was carried out at PT. Musi Hutan Persada, Suban Jeriji Village, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatera. Research used split plot design with age as main plot and seed population as sub plot. There are six levels of age of such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 years. While seed source consist three regions, namely: Jangga Baru-Jambi; Beliti Jaya-South Sumatera and Gunung Serumput-Bangka Belitung. The results showed that shading intensity 81.05% and 86.15% increased significantly the survival of seedlings at average of 54.33% and 39.68% respectively. Seed source from Bangka Belitung was able to increase significant height growth of seedlings at average of 47.47 cm respectively.
Some Indonesian students, including vocational school students, often perform negative behavior. This study aims to reveal the good practice of character education patterns through non-academic activities in a vocational school in Palembang, South Sumatera, Indonesia. This study uses an explanatory case study method that explains a phenomenon in depth and detail. The study data are obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. There are 11 informants involved in this study. They are the vice head of the school for student affairs, the supervisor of extracurricular activities, the head of school administration, the coordinator of the counseling guidance unit, Islamic spiritual advisors, teachers, and five students. The research procedure includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The result of this study indicates that to shape student character, schools should not only conduct this through learning activities but also design well-planned non-academic activities. The pattern of non-academic character education is implemented through two activities. The first is habituation activities including a routine smiling day program, operasi semut (ant operations), reading Al-Qur'an, flag-raising ceremony, and short-term Islamic boarding schools. The second is doing extracurricular activities including scouting, choir, dance and drama, scientific creativity club, etc. These non-academic activities have a positive impact on the formation of students' positive character. Students are accustomed to practicing religious values such as honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard-working, creative, independent, democratic, curios, homeland-loving, communicative, peace-loving, environmentally caring, socially caring, and responsible in daily activities. Further research is required to test the effectiveness of this non-academic approach to character education in other schools.
Human resources are the key factors that determine the success of education. The leader is the person most responsible for all the processes of education and teaching that takes place in college. Leaders should strive for alumni of the college of education quality and deserves world amid global and modern. Education leaders not only act as a leader or a manager but also as educators, administrators, supervisors, and citizens should be able to move the campus towards quality education and cooperation among agencies. Today man is facing rapid change arising from the impact of science and liabilities . Especially if it is based on the assumption that all the problems that stem from the application of the concept and an education that stimulates and promotes the progression of science and technology uncontrollable. Islam also emerged among the various issues concerning the education crisis and other problems which urgently demands a solution in the form of the establishment of an educational system that is based on the concept of Islam. One solution is a management solution in education. Aside from the business world, as well as state management organizations have an important role to deliver educational progress. If countries pursue successful management development management education while pursuing successful human child development services through adequate education. The quality of success and education cannot be separated from the contribution of leaders in education itself. It therefore requires a leader who is wise, thoughtful, has a good personality and can direct subordinates to jointly contribute to realizing quality education. . This study aims to analyze the adaptation of higher education in facing the dynamics of the times so that excellence and being able to win the competition. This study uses a phenomenological type of qualitative approach, in which researchers collect data through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique is carried out through condensation, display, and data verification stages. The results showed that Raden Intan State Islamic University of Lampung has various strategies in improving the quality of its education through vision, leadership, and managerial reformulation, promoting good service, which is the institution's core business, both in academic and non-academic fields. Need learning-based services are also carried out in the form of e-learning-based learning, high impact-based lecturer research, community service, financial management, human resources, information systems, organizational culture, and collaboration, both in academic and non-academic fields.
The practice of grouping the ability to give many problems to students and cause injustice in education. Studies of western scholars reveal the negative side of ability grouping related to inequality, labeling and low student self-esteem. This study aims to analyze the perspective of the ability grouping concept for principals and teachers, identify the implementation of ability grouping at MTs 2 Bandar Lampung, determine the effect of ability grouping on student academic achievement, and determine the effect of ability grouping on teaching and learning in the classroom. This study used a qualitative approach to the type of case study, with the research location in the superior class of MTs N 2 Bandar Lampung. The results showed that the principal and teachers had understood the basic concept of implementing ability grouping, the applied ability grouping had followed the rules and technical guidelines issued by the central and regional religious ministries, there were differences in both academic and non-academic achievement between superior and regular class students, and there are differences in aspects of the learning process applied by the teachers.Keywords: Implementation, Ability Grouping, Superior Class Abstrak Abstrak Praktik pengelompokan kemampuan memberikan banyak masalah kepada siswa dan menyebabkan ketidakadilan dalam pendidikan. Studi dari para sarjana barat mengungkapkan sisi negatif dari pengelompokan kemampuan terkait dengan ketidak setaraan, pelabelan dan harga diri siswa yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perspektif konsep ability grouping kepala sekolah dan guru, mengidentifikasi implementasi ability grouping di MTs 2 Bandar Lampung, mengetahui pengaruh ability grouping pada prestasi akademik siswa, dan mengetahui pengaruh ability grouping pada pengajaran dan pembelajaran di kelas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus, dengan lokasi penelitian di kelas unggul MTsN 2 Bandar Lampung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah dan guru telah memahami konsep dasar pelaksanaan ability grouping, ability grouping yang diterapkan telah mengikut iaturan dan petunjuk teknis yang dikeluarkan kementerian agama pusat dan wilayah, terdapat perbedaan baik prestosi akademik dan non akademik antara siswa kelas unggul dan regular, dan terdapa tperbedaan pada aspek proses pembelajaran yang diterapkan para guru. This study aims to describe the integrated anti-corruption values in Islamic Religious Education courses at the University of Lampung. The research method used is qualitative with a phenemological approach. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, data analysis steps using condensation, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the internalization of anti-corruption values uses an integrative model. The nine anti-corruption values are integrated into four materials, namely God and religion, human nature and the universe, the sources of Islamic teachings; and creed, sharia, morality and muamalah. Internalization of these values uses the method of Small Group Discussion, Role-Play and Simulation, Discovery Learning, Self-Directed Learning, Cooperative Learning, Collaborative Learning, Contextual Teaching and Learning, Project Based Learning.
The Indonesian National Nurses Association revealed that as many as 50.9% of Indonesian nurses who work experience work stress, often feel dizzy, tired, unfriendly, lack of rest due to too high workload and inadequate income. Factors that cause work stress include workload and work environment. Workloads that are heavy and too high can make nurses feel overwhelmed. A conducive work environment will support the smooth work carried out by nurses. The purpose of this study was to see the relationship between the workload of nurses, work environment and work stress in hospitals. X Batam City. The research design used was cross sectional with a total sampling technique of 54 nurses. The results of the bivariate analysis between workload and work environment with work stress using the Chi-square Statistical Test obtained p-value 0.000 <0.05 which means Ha is accepted and Ho can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between workload, work environment and work stress in the hospital X Batam. It is expected that the hospital can provide a comfortable work environment to support the productivity of nurses and pay attention to the workload of nurses to avoid work stress in the hospital.
