La manera como el centro urbano de Huari del valle de Ayacucho llegó a establecerse es un tema de mucho interés. Sin embargo, el tema sigue siendo poco discutido. Teniendo en consideración información arqueológica recuperada de un asentamiento rural que existió en lo que vino a constituir la periferia de Huari, aquí discutimos el proceso social que parece haberse dado en el valle de Ayacucho entre el final del Periodo Intermedio Temprano e inicios del Horizonte Medio. La evidencia en consideración sugiere el abandono de muchos poblados rurales a finales del Periodo Intermedio Temprano, cuando sus habitantes parecen haber buscado refugio en centros que ofrecieron mayor protección. Todo esto parece haber ocurrido en medio de la violencia que empezó a incrementarse. De este modo, los asentamientos huarpa, viables por generaciones, se vieron obligados a quedar desocupados cuando sus habitantes llegaron a concentrarse en centros específicos como Huari.
En este artículo, después de presentar las características de los sitios arqueológicos llamados Chanka, que corresponden al Periodo Intermedio Tardío, dentro de la llamada Área Histórica Chanka, aquí en los territorios andinos de Huancavelica, Ayacucho y de Andahuaylas, se discute por qué motivos, después de la decadencia de la cultura Wari, los pueblos se establecieron en las altas y estrat égicas cumbres, donde rodeado de grandes murallas, se asentaron en habitaciones de forma circular, y produjeron burdos y toscos objetos de cerámica. Circunstancia en la que tuvieron contacto con los Incas.
En este artículo se presenta los resultados de los trabajos de prospección, que consistió en la ubicación y caracterización de restos f ósiles, de las inmediaciones y zonas periféricas de la cordillera del Razuwillka, aquí en la sierra sur central de los andes, en las intersecciones de las regiones de Ayacucho y Huancavelica, en el Perú.
El presente artículo es un reporte que trata de la existencia de pinturas rupestres en las zonas alto andinas del territorio huancavelicano, aquí en la provincia de Acobamba, distrito de Caja Espíritu, donde en las paredes de unos abrigos rocosos, llamados Alalacc Machay, aparecen las figuras dibujadas de camélidos alto andinos en movimiento, en claras muestras de estar siendo cazados.
