Este artículo presenta los resultados del proyecto “Análisis espacial de configuración del paisaje en tres áreas de protección y manejo de Bogotá, D. C. Formulación de lineamientos de manejo integrado de paisaje para el mejoramiento de Servicios Ecosistémicos” desarrollado por la Línea de Investigación en Biodiversidad y Servicios Ecosistémicos de la Subdirección Científica del Jardín Botánico de Bogotá (JBB). El proyecto se enfoca específicamente en la microcuenca río Fucha; se basó en la observación de elementos del paisaje y su conexión potencial por medio de tres áreas estratégicas de ordenamiento para la ciudad: la Reserva Forestal Protectora Bosque Oriental de Bogotá (RFPBOB), las Áreas de Ocupación Pública Prioritaria (AOPP) de la Franja de Adecuación de los Cerros Orientales y la Microcuenca Fucha. De igual manera es un ejercicio de acercamiento a la implementación de la propuesta metodológica “Modelo de acercamiento al estudio de zonas de montaña”, como forma del análisis del paisaje a partir de tres dimensiones: verticalidad, horizontalidad y transversalidad, con el cual se identificaron zonas para el mejoramiento de Servicios Ecosistémicos (SE) culturales.
Este artículo presenta los resultados del proyecto titulado "Análisis de la configuración del paisaje por pérdida del servicio ecosistémico de regulación de inundaciones" desarrollado durante el 2019 en la línea de Biodiversidad y Servicios Ecosistémicos, de la Subdirección Científica del Jardín Botánico de Bogotá José Celestino Mutis (JBB). Evidenciar cómo a medida que la ciudad crece va perdiendo los espacios que prestan servicios ecosistémicos de regulación hídrica y su relación potencial con eventos de inundación en dos áreas de interés para el JBB: las microcuencas Torca y Tintal. La primera microcuenca se encuentra al norte de la ciudad, ha mantenido en gran parte el suelo para actividades rurales, mientras que la segunda ha tenido un proceso de expansión urbana acelerado, desde la década de los años ochenta. En ambas microcuencas se encuentra una estrecha relación con la perdida de áreas amortiguadoras y reguladoras y los patrones espacio temporales de ocurrencia de eventos de inundación.
La expansión de la agricultura industrial en zonas rurales de Bogotá ha reducido la diversidad de plantas cultivadas por las familias campesinas, y ha transformado sus formas de vida y las relaciones bioculturales. Ello afecta los conocimientos ambientales de carácter local y las prácticas de uso y manejo de la agrobiodiversidad. Aunque se ha documentado en varios estudios la presencia de nichos agrobiodiversos, tales como huertas y jardines campesinos que persisten en medio de paisajes homogeneizados, es necesario ampliar la identificación y el análisis de las funciones culturales y agroecológicas que los caracterizan. En este artículo se detallan los conocimientos locales vinculados a huertas y jardines en términos de sus funciones y aportes a la conservación y recuperación de la agrobiodiversidad. Se realizaron entrevistas semiestructuradas a seis sabedores locales y en veinticinco hogares, además de observaciones etnográficas y recorridos etnobotánicos. Con la información obtenida, se caracterizaron las funciones de los nichos de agrobiodiversidad, según las experiencias cotidianas de sus cuidadores y cuidadoras. Se identificaron ocho funciones agroecológicas, 249 nombres comunes asociados al mismo número de especies vegetales, y varios saberes sobre usos y manejos. Se concluye explicando las posibles articulaciones entre los nichos y los paisajes circundantes, para entender su aporte potencial a la transformación territorial y a la conectividad de la estructura ecológica rural de Bogotá.
Retomando los aportes y reflexiones surgidas en el marco del foro homónimo, celebrado en octubre de 2020, en el texto se aborda la pertinencia de la cartografía participativa en diferentes contextos de disputa, despojo o reivindicación territorial que se viven en la región latinoamericana, sobre todo por el modelo extractivo neoliberal que impera en sus economías. Se hace énfasis en los procesos seguidos por los cinco colectivos participantes para la elaboración de materiales didácticos y su implementación. Esto permite entender que las guías, cartillas y manuales sirven en primer lugar como herramientas de sistematización de experiencias que cumplen un papel de mediación práctica, pedagógica y política en la reivindicación y la construcción de territorialidades diversas, contrahegemónicas o en resistencia. En segundo lugar, se convierten en instrumentos de transmisión de conocimientos tanto en el ámbito universitario, facilitando la incorporación de nuevas generaciones a este enfoque crítico y popular de la cartografía, como hacia otros sectores o territorios en contextos similares. Finalmente, evidenciamos algunos de los retos éticos y pedagógicos de estos materiales de elaboración colectiva que, más que un producto de difusión, fungen como dispositivos de diálogo y reflexión desde y para la acción territorial.
Este artículo compila los resultados del proyecto de investigación “Evaluación de servicios ecosistémicos de regulación de remoción en masa y erosión, en las cuencas Salitre y Teusacá, área rural de Bogotá, Colombia”, desarrollado por la línea de Biodiversidad y Servicios Ecosistémicos, de la Subdirección Científica del Jardín Botánico de Bogotá. El proyecto analiza la interacción de las coberturas vegetales con los procesos de erosión y remoción en masa, a partir del aporte en la prevención, dada la capacidad de interceptación de precipitación del follaje, tomando la lluvia como factor que incide en la aceleración de estos procesos. Se apoya en el análisis espacial y mapeo con un software SIG, lo cual proporciona la base de la observación relacional que difícilmente se lograría sin estas herramientas. Este trabajo busca ser un aporte a la evaluación de los servicios ecosistémicos de regulación, así como proveer información actualizada que sirva de base para estudios posteriores, relacionados con el concomimiento de las funcionalidades de la Estructura Ecológica Principal de Bogotá.
