Abstract. The environmentally friendly manufacturing influences the worldwide community both private and public to run the concept of green productivity. The concept of green productivity drives the organisation to seek integration of sustainable environmental management and environmentally friendly production system design. The lack of green and sustainable concept have reduced the competitiveness of the organisation due to the low capability to meet the international standard of ISO 14000. One of the important thing of being 'green' is our capability to deal with the pollution. Continuous improvement approach to achieve green productivity is an effort to increase sustainable competitiveness by maintaining green product and reducing the pollution. The continuous improvement to achieve the capability to overcome the pollution problem will lead into tangible and intangible benefit. It is therefore the green productivity is crucial. In this research, the concept of green produtivity and continuous improvement approah are utilised to overcome the problems of pollution in manufacturing industries.
The purpose of this research was to determine the extent of the influence of Body Mass Index (BMI) Variations on musculoskeletal discomfort. The steps taken are first to calculate the Body Mass Index (BMI), measure the level of musculoskeletal discomfort of each cleaning worker who works in an elevated place by distributing the Nordic Body Map questionnaire, then perform a statistical test with the Chi-Square Test. The results of this research are painful areas of musculoskeletal discomfort is the left shoulder, right shoulder, back, waist, buttocks, right knee and left leg. From the Chi-Square Test results obtained p-value for the left shoulder = 0.006, right shoulder = 0.003, back = 0.00, waist = 0.00, buttocks = 0.00, right knee = 0.001 and left leg = 0.00, because all <0.05 then all null hypotheses are rejected, this fact means there is a relationship between BMI and musculoskeletal discomfort that is felt sick. The conclusion is an un-ergonomic posture in the work will cause the musculoskeletal discomfort area and the higher the person's BMI level will be susceptible to pain complaints, the lower the BMI than the fewer complaints of pain.
Class furniture, namely tables and chairs, are significant physical facilities because the furniture is used for teaching and learning activities. Pain in the neck, waist, right upper arm, right forearm and right wrist during the learning process due to non-ergonomic facilities. Therefore, this research aims to minimize the complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorder with the Ergonomic Learning Chair. In this study, descriptive research with the REBA method and the RULA method was used. With the REBA method, the final score obtained in Group C is 8, then this value is entered at Action Level 3, after which researchers can only find out that the student's body posture level is in the High category so that action is needed immediately. With the RULA method, the student's body activity results are at a Group C score of 7. The value is entered for Action Level 4 so that the student's posture is in the dangerous category for safety, health and comfort. Therefore, action is needed now to overcome this problem with the suggestion manufacture of Ergonomic Study Chair. From the results of the chair use test design analysis by distributing questionnaires to 35 students as a sample, it was found that there was a decrease in complaints of Musculoskeletal Disorder in the student body. With the contribution of the study table, it can be adjusted up and down (adjustable) to make the chair more comfortable.
Cleaning workers are jobs that require physical strength especially if the work is carried out at a height, and it is not uncommon to complain about musculoskeletal discomfort in physical areas that feel uncomfortable when working in an un ergonomic position. From the observation results If observed posture when cleaning wokers work, body position tilted and bent with angles ranging from 20°-60°, neck bent with an angle of about 20 °, cleaning is done repeatedly by shifting the left hand and right hand with the angle of the upper arm > 90° raised for 10 minutes and forearm around 40°, this illustrates the condition of awkward posture cleaning wokers not ergonomic, posture that is not ergonomic will cause musculoskeletal disorder. The purpose of this research is to measure the effect of stretching on mental workload in an effort to mental recovery. To achieve these objectives, first determine the type of glass cleaning activity outside the building at a height including: preparing tools, climbing stairs, cleaning glass, moving to other areas and cleaning tools, determining stretching movements, then conducting experiments in this case divided into 3 (three) treatment, first without stretching, giving stretching in the morning at 10 am for 6 minutes and stretching during the day at 2 pm for 6 minutes. Measurement of mental workload using the Subjective Workload Assessment Technique (SWAT) method, statistical processing by carrying out the covariance homogeneity test, Multivariate test and followed by the MANOVA test. The results of this research that stretching in addition to having a positive influence on the decline in mental workload, can also be used for mental recovery. Working at a height with a work posture that is not ergonomic, will increase the level of mental workload
