Moral panics, digital media and youth in Brazil Resumo O artigo analisa a circulação de moralidades acerca dos usos das mídias digitais por jovens brasileiros a partir de uma reflexão dos medos coletivos relacionados à prática específica do suicídio. Para isso, nos concentraremos nos discursos em torno do jogo Baleia Azul que circularam na rede no ano de 2017 e que trouxeram à tona conteúdos diversos sobre a experiência de jovens brasileiros com a internet e os serviços de rede social. O objetivo é discutir as relações entre pânicos morais e controle social dos usos das mídias digitais por jovens, bem como apontar as especificidades que esse tipo de mídia assume em suas relações de socialidade. Em um segundo momento, com base nas reflexões propostas por uma Sociologia Digital e pela perspectiva da modelagem social da tecnologia, apresentaremos algumas reflexões que nos auxiliam a pensar a utilização das tecnologias pelos adolescentes para além dos discursos da patologia, buscando compreender seus usos de maneira contextual, resultado de relações estabelecidas no âmbito familiar, escolar e em círculos de amigos. Abstract The article analyzes the circulation of moralities about the uses of digital media by Brazilian young people based on a reflection of collective fears related to the specific practice of suicide. In this sense, we will focus on the speeches about the game Whale Blue that circulated in the online network in the year 2017 and which brought to light various contents about the experience of young Brazilians with the internet and social network services. Este texto atesta considerações, de natureza introdutória, sobre o dossiê temático “Licenciaturas – cenários e contextos da formação de professores da Educação Básica”. Se configura como um ensaio teórico que, além de ponderar reflexões a respeito da formação inicial de professores no Brasil, apresenta o conjunto de textos que compõem o presente empreendimento acadêmico. Em linhas gerais, circunscreve que as licenciaturas são cursos específicos que visam a formação de professores para atuação na docência na Educação Básica. Esse aspecto legitima a pertinência das pesquisas que se reportam à formação docente, as quais se unificam ao dossiê em discussão. Afirma, entre outros aspectos, que os currículos das licenciaturas possibilitam o desenvolvimento de diferentes processos formativos, respingando na identidade do profissional formado para atuação no ensino básico. Como conclusão, alude que os cenários e os contextos de formação docente no Brasil, evidenciados no dossiê, são plurais, haja vista que discorrem sobre realidades formativas produzidas sócio e culturalmente, legitimando a impossibilidade de homogeneizar currículos e a formação inicial docente a nível nacional.
É lugar comum dizer que vivemos em um mundo mediado por tecnologias. Há mais de um século nossa vida se entrelaça com sons, imagens, ideias, representações que circulam pelo rádio, cinema e televisão e, desde a década de 1990, quando a rede mundial de computadores passou a se disseminar, vemos a vida cada vez mais mediada por sofisticadas mídias digitais, vinculando cada vez mais o local com o global, fazendo os aspectos mais prosaicos de nossas vidas serem afetados cada vez mais por relações sociais distanciadas.
